Bosch BL Sabre Saw GSA 18V-32 - oztooltalk review

Touché, sir. That makes sense...I never see the stuff because I rarely go to lowes! -
This would be a solid addition. Ryobi, Makita, Milwaukee have one, so I know it's only a matter of time!!

That could be in the debate... but did you mean to post in this particular thread? lol

Yeah I am not sure if that part is relevant or not... since it's just a wattage? No idea.

With the bosch stuff... does Home Depot carry most of their cordless options? I pretty much never see it there... every HD I walk into looks like it's sponsored by Milwaukee and DeWALT. -
Welcome to the forum!

I picked up these Irwin Speedbors last night at Menards. It is a 1" and a 1-1/4". They were $7.99, so I couldn't pass them up. I don't have a specific plan as of now, but once I get into more timber work I know that they'll come in handy. FB82

Yeah, a carpenter on the site has one and is going to run his miter saw off of it to experiment. I'll be paying attention, obviously.

The previous post is me showing ignorance. I wasn't aware of those tools being out, probably because I never see them or have seen them advertised. @dwain -

Depending on total price, I just can't see myself getting into this. Flat tires yes... but unless you have zero electricity what will you use it for? I know the argument on nail guns, which I agree with, but I would rather be totally cordless and set a few nails potentially... rather than have a cordless compressor and still have hoses around.

@BMack37, that's not too bad at all. Especially if they're that high of quality!
-
@BMack37 yeah total garbage. Swear on my life that's how it went down. If I remember correctly it was also a corporate thing, because they had X amount of liquid cash to spend. Once they're out, they're out. So when they had additional room in the outdoor lumber department, you get paid in gift cards.

@Hugh Jass I think that it is going to be a 20V? I mean you could make it the 60V, but I don't know that you would need the extra power that the 60V would provide?

If you don't mind me asking, where did you pick those up at? FB82

I think it's okay, in terms of what it is as a store. However, we did an addition and remodel on some of their store... such a pain to work for them. With change orders they wouldn't play actual money... they used Menards bucks. I realize this sounds ridiculous (because it is) but that's how it went down. So for the next three years we are spending $50,000 in Menards bucks at their store. Smart by them, but it sucked for us.

Yeah, I totally agree. I found a few good deals there last fall.

That's a super good idea @JMG. I was thinking about using it for small side jobs where I need to run something off a cord. It's rare, since the world is mostly cordless now, but there have been occasions where I would need to mix grout, table saw, etc.

So finally got my hands on the chief's 15g nailer. I didn't do anything that was actual finish work, I was just shooting it in my garage on some old casing and trim. First, I felt that it was plenty powerful with limited recoil. It sunk all of the nails (soft wood) easily. With that, I did think the unit was somewhat awkward and not quite as smooth as the DeWALT 16g angled that I have used. For the right price I don't think it is a bad buy, but you can get something that may be superior for only a few more bucks at Home Depot.
