I was number 139 on the list, most likely I won't get hired until January or February the way construction is going right now. In January and February they are expecting a lot of Finish Carpentry work. What's your local number?

Yup i have had the same problem with the tips bending. I didnt catch it a few times and its thrown me off. Not to hard to take a linemans to them and staighten it back up but it can be irritating. The training center is really nice. The wood shop has all top of the line tools. Im talking SawStop and Powermatic stuff.I have Timberland Pitboss shoes. Ive had them for 4 years and they are broken in well. Its just that we did a lot of running and walking during the training, something that my boots werent designed for. I had cheap socks that escalated the problem. If anyone has a recommendation for work boots or shoes, im all ears. Im thinking of getting some better socks, been looking at Carhartt. Thanks for all the good wishes crew. You guys are the best. The 3 day screening was pretty tough. More than half the guys quit. I made it and ill be getting indentured with the carpenters union next week tuesday. I also found out that i passed the electricians exam. Ill be going in for an interview in december for that. Yup i agree!I just thought it was funny that everything was Klein. I like Klein, but I really like Knipex. Channel Lock has some great stuff too. I think the Wiha Insulated screw drivers are a steal. hmmmmm....it would seem like you have some personal experience playing with magnets while at work, lol. another fun thing to do is reply to comments on the TIA forum while doing something productive haha

For the Home Owner, you cant go wrong with any of the tool brands mentioned here. DeWalt and Rigid make some excellent tools. My vote however would be to go with Ryobi. Ryobi is priced very well, the quality is great for occasional use, they have a large amount of tools.

Here's the Tool Belt I got. Its an Occidental Leather 5036 Electrician Tool Belt. I'm not an Electrician so that's why it looks so new haha. I hope to get in the IBEW soon though. I think it would be really cool if TIA did some reviews on these Occidental Tool Belts. They are very well made and very comfortable. I went with Occidental because I heard they are the best belts. I also want to be able to pass my tools to my son someday so I figure I'll get the better stuff.

I called them yesterday. Apparently they havent received the test results back yet. Said it usually takes two weeks from the testing date. I should get a letter sometime this week or next. Still crossing my fingersSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
