  1. I enjoy my hammer collection. Vaughan 99 16oz rip hickoryVaughan FS999L 20oz long rip fiberglassProto ball pein hammers (with the red paint head and stained red hickory handles)Gedore hickory 800g
  2. I did get a chance to look at the HF Taiwan versions. Didn't look bad, though did seem like a half hearted attempt at being wobble plus. I may reconsider and do wobble plus, in which case Genius has a nice set or perhaps the Tekton. Thanks all for the help.
  3. I have the J5252F (same as your 3/8 Jimbo just in chrome) plus the flex version J5257F. They are both reversible as Stercorarius mentioned. I like them a lot.
  4. Stercorarius - can you confirm if the Pittsburgh are regular wobble, not wobble plus? Mondo1310, Jimbos1ice - I think the Tekton's are wobble plus. unclebud - I think the Craftsman's are wobble plus too?
  5. I'm looking for some chrome (not impact) wobble extensions that don't have the plus feature. So wobble only, not a wobble rigid combination. I've looked at GearWrench and Genius Tool, but I believe those are both the plus design (push socket on further and they become rigid). Not surprisingly SK looks like a good wobble only option, but more than I'd like to spend. I think the Proto design might be wobble plus. I'm thinking for my target price point maybe something made in Taiwan. I contacted KTI, their wobble extensions are wobble only, but they have a weird bump at the end. They look a lot like the Neiko ones. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  6. If Grip-On or one of their rebrands (Proto for example) are too expensive: I have a couple of Strong Hand PR115S 11" clamps. While the Strong Hand clamps are also made in China, they seem a beefier/better design than the Chinese Irwin and have a pull release lever. I use them when welding. The new Milwaukee Torque Lock look good too, made in Taiwan but with the inferior push (pinch!) release lever
  7. Thanks all. I think I might give up on the satin finish based on the useful feedback. I did take a peak at Gedore (available special order through Lowes website interesting enough) but out of my price range for sure. I might hold off for now. If I have an immediate need I will get the Dewalts, otherwise I might wait for the next Enco 20% off sale and get the Blackhawks I've looked at before (BW1400 and BW1450).
  8. Thanks all. @dwain - that's exactly what it means.
  9. I’m keen to find metric and SAE sets of reversible ratcheting wrenches, decent but budget. Based on reading previous posts the Dewalt sets look like they meet the criteria (e.g. good quality/Taiwan), but they look polished. Any thoughts on comparable satin finish options? Thank you!
  10. Hello all. I work in an office and like to tinker when I can, plus researching tools and supplies. I like the pragmatic vibe of this forum where USA tools tend to be preferred, but Taiwan made tools and other options are not dismissed as also being good quality tools. Glad to be here.
