  1. Did you guys see this? It's on their fb page. Of course no details on the battery itself though. There are actually several more photos of the battery on this page too. No idea if its something new or not?
  2. They do have a compact 2.0ah 18v battery.
  3. Id really like to see a Drain snake from Makita. Im thinking Im going to have to purchase the Ryobi and a ryobi-makita battery adapter.
  4. Does anyone know of a dealer that has this in stock yet? Ive been waiting a long time for this sucker to arrive. Gooogle isn't bringing up much.

    x2 chop saw

Meh, would of liked to have seen them do it as a carbide cold saw. Ever since I picked up the Dewalt DW872 I haven't even looked at the old chop saw.
  6. Its looking really good! That will end up being a nice piece to pass down in the future.
  7. Grab a two pack of the compact 2.0s and then a two pack of the 5.0s. I run the 2.0s as often as I can on the tools that I can, I just appreciate the size and weight of them. But there are tools and times that I need the longer run time of a full size pack. There are 6.0s out there but they are much harder to come by then the 5.0s... still!
  8. I just couldn’t resist, grabbed the Track saw deal from HD before the free battery deal expired. They had it discounted down to $375.
  9. Im honestly satisfied with the 6ah batteries, for a portable tool I really don't want to have a physically larger battery attached to the tool. What I want to see is larger capacity compact batteries! Lets get some compact 3ah batteries! More and more I find my self using the compacts for my day to day drill/drivers.
  10. Wohoo, I like the looks of the right angle. Looks like a beast.

    Battery Adapter

I was considering an adapter to run the Ryobi drain snake. You haven't had any issues with the newer Makita star batteries running other tools?

    AWS Tools

So now that these tools are out, has anyone been running them? As far as I can tell they only work with the Makita AWS vacuum, correct? There is no way to send the signal to other vacuums? (Ie. my festool midi?) Ive been holding off on picking up the cordless track saw, but now I think I might go with the non AWS version since Im not running the Makita vacuum. Input anyone?
  13. Ahh that makes since, as the barrel grip is available in Canada. And yes anyway excited to see the compact barrel grip as well!
  14. To my eyes, that one laying on the floor looks like the full size teal Makita DJV181Z, which Im not sure if its currently available in the states or not. I know it wasn't for a while but I thought I saw something about it being here now? Any way that video showing the 12v looks real similar too. I wonder if the the 18v will infact be different than the djv181? *Edit* after looking closer that one on the floor is the djv181, you can tell by the buttons being orientated differently than the 12v CXT shown in the video.
  15. Funny, the kit doesn't include a track?
  16. Ive got two. The Knipex pliers wrench, I didn't really know what to expect when I first purchased one but now they have easily become my goto adjustable. I also grab them for bending/shaping wire, brackets, etc. Also the Makita 3/8" impact socket sets. I grabbed one to keep with my impact, but I quickly found myself grabbing it to work on every thing. Nice selection of sizes in a tidy and compact case.
  17. Working in the shop or on vehicles I usually use the dedicated screwdrivers. But at work (Im a paint contractor) I always have my Wera kompakt 28 on me! I love having a multi bit driver with me that takes a standard 1" bit, so that I can swap bits from it into my impact driver when need be. Because it never fails when your two stories up a ladder some sorry sucker just had to use two different screw profiles to attach that shutter!
  18. So excited for the plunge saw and actually real interested in the new subcompact roto hammer too!
  19. Do you have a part number for the plunge saw yet? Ive been looking for any information on it.

    Makita track saw

Ive been waiting for Makita to release a cordless track saw as well!
  21. Looks good, I love my little corded Makita trim router.
  22. Now that it seems everyone has 6.0ah full size battery packs out, when are we going to see 3.0s in the compact form factor of the existing 2.0s? With Makita pushing the new subcompact drill and driver, Im hoping it might be soon. Anyone else?
  23. I like that it's clutched. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Yea, there is no such thing as a too "lengthy review" on here. We all love the details!
  25. Did you try a multiple wheels on it? Ive noticed at times different cheapie grinding wheels will vibrate more than others. I use the brushless grinder a fair amount and dont notice excessive vibration.
