  1. Comp, you're a sick sick man. It's almost too pretty to throw lumber on
  2. I figured the color would be acceptable for you especially
  3. http://thingamejigtools.com I have an old compass one which works ok but never 100% satisfactory. This thing looks over-engineered but like it might actually work really well and consistently. Check it out....
  4. Wow, miters are becoming cheaper than dirt up in Canada. First the Milwaukee now the Dewalt....You going to start collecting them now;)
  5. That sucks. I've always liked the G35 too.
  6. I am jealous though. Thats a fantastic deal on that saw, I'm tying to hold out to see what the US M18 version will be like but for that price I would have snagged the deal you got most likely . Wish it was available here in the US for that price. The only real negative I've read about that saw is that its pretty heavy, maybe a detriment for lugging to and from to job-sites but for stationary work in a shop it's probably a plus being so beefy for stability.
  7. Throw a Diablo on the new one and you could probably cut steel I-beams in half lol
  8. So far I'm liking the Titanium SHOCKWAVE drill bits. The driver bits are better than the old ones but still so-so maybe but the drill bits seem to be winners in my limited use so far. I like the hex shanks so I can throw them into an impact driver and unlike many cheaper hex shank bits with weak metal welded on to form the hex part these seem to be all steel and well made. There is nothing I hate more than a hex shank drill bit snapping off the hex part.
  9. You must buy your red paint on bulk
  10. I like my cheapo CH Hanson. Under $10 and it's really just a powerful magnet. Many places in my 100 year old house just suck for any stud finder because they used heavy duty metal lath all over the place. It's crazy heavy too. Cell reception sucks in many rooms because it practically makes some rooms like a Faraday cage.
  11. They are just likes. You tap the screen to give them. The more hearts the more the channel is promoted as being popular etc. one thing I love that periscope added was the ability to scrub through old past videos, it makes watching the 3D printing videos more fun when you can speed up the printing 100x's and watch the printing process all time lapsed
  12. I love minis but they are nowhere near as mini as the original mini
  13. I just picked up an S3. It's basically an upscale Golf R underneath, not that there is anything wrong with that. It's a sweet little motor, and they seriously underate the horsepower. 292HP and AWD for all season fun and it's been tested at 4.4 to 60... I think it's closer to 350HP. All that and it gets over 30MPG and a usable back seat and the pop up LCD for the Nav makes me giggle! It goes like stink but looks like any other of the zillion Audi's here in the North East so it doesn't stand out too much. ETA - because this is the TIA board...I already checked to see if a 2x4x8 can fit through the fold down rear seat and up on the dashboard; it does with room to spare but moving blanket required
  14. Credit cards are just a tool, a financial one. You have to just sit back and think how best to use them to your advantage but if you use them in dangerous and or thoughtless ways your're gonna get hurt.
  15. Nice! I love my Ryobi Brad nailer, can't be beat for the price but it would be sweet if they made an M12 fuel pin nailer. Something like that would be great with the smaller M12 batteries. Notice they said looking forward to their "Fuel nailers" and not "M18 Fuel nailers"... Could be something to that or not.
  16. Good old purple rubber band lol. Why is it the best quality rubber bands are used on vegetables
  17. I got my bank card skimmed at the ATM a couple years ago. It is absolutely amazing the amount of effort they put into the process. For those who don't know they make a physical replica of a specific make and model of ATM that sticks onto the front of the banks actual machine. As you slide your card into the fake faceplate and it reads the card right before it slides into the actual machine to get your account info so the crooks can make a duplicate bank card later on. To get your pin they have a camera with cell phone radio imbedded into one of those mirrors stuck on the top to video your fingers tapping the pin in. Crazy sophisticated and they make so much money they never have to return to get all the hardware and risk getting caught, hence the cellphone radio to relay all the video and data back home. The beauty of this scam is the victims use the machine and get their money so they go about their business as if nothing was wrong, they attack the account later on. If you google atm skimmers you can see how perfect they make the replica faceplates. I'm a technophile and I didn't think twice about it being phony. Now when I go to the ATM I grab the machine where the cards go in and shake it just to be sure and people think I'm a nut lol.
  18. I want to see Milwaukee's 9amp batteries on the market to go with their new M18 Fuel Miter saw....
  19. I think someone posted about this here before. It's really flimsy but might be a great solution for the occasional DIYer but even so these things never work out because when they get pulled out of storage for the once-in-a-blue-moon use it'll break and end up in the trash. These days you are so much better off going with Ryobi on the low end. For the price you really can't beat them in many areas and their quality is pretty darn good and a good value.
  20. Saw it last Thursday. My gf is a bigger geek than I am about it and wore an R2D2 dress lol. Without going into to many specifics and spoilers I liked it quite a bit. The biggest complaints seem to be they recycled many many themes but I think that was entirely intentional to get the franchise back on track. It was orders of magnitude better than the prequels and up there in feel to to the originals. It "feels" like a Star Wars movie which I guess is the best compliment you could make. There are some nits to pick but overall the good far outweighs the bad. The pacing is excellent imho and the effects look good without being too CGI-ish like the prequels.
  21. It's a shame they couldn't afford to put regular planks down Seriously though I agree with others that it might be hard to live with but that's a lot of beautiful wood.
  22. Interesting discussion. Milwaukee has been enabling more torque on tools with larger batteries attached for a while now. They listed the original Fuel drill as having 725 in-lbs of torque with an XC battery and 650 in-lbs with smaller batteries, roughly 10% difference.
  23. I tell you we might be living in the golden age of power tools. So many great choices across all price points...
  24. Wireless is all fine and good but it's always the interface between the wired and wireless that's the tricky part
