  1. Agreed. I always wondered what was the reason he vanished from WSA.
  2. Went crazy and bought a new 10" drywall knife.
  3. On vacation this week and I'm getting ready to paint my daughters room. The original plaster ceiling has a skip/knock down texture on it. We decided to skim coat with compound to make it flat and uniform. Just finished the first coat.
  4. Nice score. When I first saw the picture, I thought it was a expanding foam project that had gone horribly wrong.
  5. I change the oil and do most of the general maintenance in our vehicles. It's gives me a reason to "Buy" new tools in the event I need something.
  6. Finally finished the fence up a couple of weeks ago. Just getting around to posting the pics though. Very happy with how the fence came out. It was relatively easy to install once we got the basics down. The project took a little bit longer than anticipated due to life and the decision to pay off some bills before we moved forward on it. Have a couple of items left to do. We'll be putting up a 4' vinyl picket fence on the driveway side in the spring to contain our 2 dogs as well as redoing the walkway that leads to the driveway.
  7. Looks amazing Mike. Great Job!!!
  8. Another option is to use use structural wood screws They are stronger than traditional lag screws and they also come in a shiny black oxide coating with the advantage of a flat head surface. You can get them in various lengths as well. So it's nice option to use when the screw head may be exposed. http://www.lowes.com/pd/FastenMaster-50-Count-4-1-2-in-Structural-Wood-Screws/3446730
  9. Any issues you can blame it on your Buddy! That's what they're for.
  10. No problem! I'm hoping to have it finished on the 8th , But I'm in the middle of a VOIP conversion where I work and I have a feeling I'm going to be in the office pretty much all next weekend.
  11. Thanks! The timbers are 6x6 treated rated for ground contact with a 30 year lifespan.
  12. After a long hiatus there has been some progress on this project. Been busy with work ( Got Promoted ) and life in general. The Northeast is in the middle of a drought and the backyard suffered some damage due to the heat stress and not being established. I'll need to repair some of the dead spots in the fall. But overall it's still looking pretty good. Finally started installing the fence today. Had my local fence supplier weld some 2" tubes to some base plates I had fabricated so I could create some surface mounts for the posts to slide over. Picked the fencing material at Lowes. last night and got to it on Saturday. Got the back wall and the garage side done. Will be making the turn and going up the yard in a couple of weeks. Need to save up some money to finish it off.
  13. Congrats and Good Luck. You never know what you're going to get with older homes. Awesome progress so far.
  14. I'll trade you my XBOX 360 or PS3 for it.....
  15. We met with them last week. Essentially they classify it as a "Power Purchase" where they absorb all installation costs and in turn you agree to purchase power from them at a reduced and somewhat price controlled rate. It's a 20 year "Lease" and in the event you decide to move or sell the home. (Which we might in the next 5 years). They need to approve the buyer of the house via a credit and a background check. This same situation also effects being able to pull the equity out of the house or doing a refi. There's currently some legislation in MA trying to correct this. So for now, we're going to wait and see what happens before we commit to anything. http://whdh.com/news/hank-investigates-leased-solar-panels/

  17. Sadly, I think I'm going to have to jump off the bandwagon. We'll see what happens over the next couple of years with my current inventory and if I have any more failures.
