Cheapest retail battery pack ever? Or fire hazard.
HiltiWpg replied to pancing's topic in Power Tools
Batteries don't cost $150 to manufacture. It's the one item we can't do without and the one item that has the most profit. Obviously they are giving it away, but they aren't losing much. Cells are cheap, plastic is cheap and little circuit board are cheap! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk -

Buy them up, strip out the cells and sell them for $3-$5 each on eBay! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk -

I am more interested in the anti-vibration aspect. The impact energy / rpm is more than sufficient. I figured I can sell the batteries and reduce my costs! I want to keep the dual bay rapid charger though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I just got a couple tools from Bolt Supply here in Canada. They are offering a free battery, free battery and charger, 2 free batteries and dual bay charger with selected bare tools and kits. For $317 bucks I got the 36v rotary hammer drill, 2x 4.0 batteries and a dual rapid charger. Enjoy! http://www.boltsupply.com/uploads/docs/Focus_Flyer/MAKITA_FALL_INTO_SAVINGS_EVENT_OCT_31_2016.pdf Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

FYI, TTI licenses the name Ryobi in North America. It's not the same stuff. Edit: Just saw someone else mentioned this. [emoji26] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

That remains to be seen. I got rid of my Klein Linesman and Sidecutters due to quality issues. I have always liked their stuff but sometimes the bottom line gets in the way of quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow, they look just like the Milwaukee strippers, with a different handle. I like em! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The 2712 was a decent little RHD, I didn't mind it at all. It was a little heavy and the balance was off. I wished at the time, that I splurged for the 2715. The 2712 was just a brushless version of the older 2612. The 2715 has a better design imo. That said, the D handle designs are tried and true, and usually cheaper. They tend to have slightly more impact energy as they are inline and not geared at a 90 degree angle.(compared to a similarly priced drop style, obviously!) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yet. Just wait. At the rate companies keep swallowing other companies, it won't be long before there is 1-2 controlling it all. Capitalism at its finest and the illusion of choice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agreed. They looked worse than Dollar Store tools. That's probably why they got in on Makita, now that they have a very good line, they can start rolling out their own. If they can keep Metabo quality with some real tool innovations, I suspect they will be a force to be reckoned with in no time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wait, is that bad or good? Apple releases 2 phones a year. Samsung releases over 50 different models. Some are even free of explosions. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

They were probably getting Makita to make stuff for them. Now that they have other avenues available. They will probably have some dramatic changes coming. Too funny, it's even got the plastic cowl like the DTD170. Battery model numbers are the same, they just added an S to the Hitachi. The charger looks like they flipped a standard Makita charger around and put the cord on the front. http://www.hitachi-koki.co.jp/powertools/pro/drill/wh18ddl2/wh18ddl2.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hahaha! Good point. I don't think any other company bundles more than one impact into a kit like Makita does. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

If you are recording to the SD card and not to an NVR/SAN etc, I believe you are out of luck. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
