  1. 4 times?! That’s nuts, were all 4 times taken out of ur truck?
  2. http://www.ecatalog.rohm-products.com/keyless-drill-chuck-extra-rv-28 found this by accident, now to see if it’s available for purchase
  3. Milwaukee chucks do hold bits well but in my experience too well. I’ll be sending in my 4th drill now for having a seized chuck. I don’t know that rohm is better but at this point just something else to try. I’ve learned to deal with different quirks that some of my tools have but having ur chuck seized is a big hinderence to the work day. Having to carry channel locks to loosen ur chuck is annoying, and having to mail in your drill cuz it just won’t open is even worse! I love all my milwaukee tools but I’m just annoyed and looking at options.
  4. I think it was last year if not end of 2016 that someone on here mentioned that rohm was to be coming out with a new chuck that would fit on the Milwaukee 2704 drill. Anyone know anything about this or if it’s available yet?
  5. I had the same issue with my 2704 drill except they did fix mine and replaced the armature. That did t fix my problem tho
  6. I buy Home Depot gloves that Velcro close on the top. They have leather and fingertip reinforcements and these fit well enough for me to be able to manipulate small screws and staples. I then buy a cheap pair of cloth gloves and I cut the index and thumb tip off the fingers and slide them on over my other gloves. Keeps your hand warm but u keep the dexterity u need that way. If it’s really really cold, i have a pair of cheap fleece lined cloth gloves that I’ll do the same with and wear over , and I carry extra toe warmers with me and I’ll stick one on the back of each hand. i usually hate wearing any gloves at all but in extreme cold there’s no choice and this works great for me. I struggled for years with frozen fingers until an old timer showed me this trick.
  7. I bought this new updated vac with the hose on the inside a few weeks ago off the rack at Home Depot. I think u just need to go in the store and look for yourself
  8. I’ll add too that as much as I like Klein tools I don’t like their wire strippers, the handles always crack and split open
  9. Is this the new m12 fuel or the old stuff?
  10. Either way I won't defend them too much. I think I've gone thru 4-5 drills and 2 impacts in 2 years all for weird glitchy reasons but as an electrician they sell all the right stuff so I just keep going along with it.
  11. So they won't sell u a chuck for the 2706? That's weird. My 2704 does have the larger hole chuck I know that much. I don't understand why they can't just admit it's the same drill and sell u parts. Did u look at other online part stores?
  12. I've been thru similar frustrations with Milwaukee but u can buy replacement chucks online. With dewalt tho there's no screw in the chuck, it's some sort of pin and I'm not sure how or if it's even possible to remove. ive also noticed that milwaukee chucks just seem real finicky. I can put a drill bit in and it'll wobble, then I'll slightly loosen and re tighten and it runs true. I think it's just how the teeth bite.
  13. Wish milwaukee would do something similar. They say they are waiting for new cells for their 18v batteries but doesn't that mean that whenever these new cells are abailable that someone like dewalt could also put these news cells in their flexvolt batteries and still keep the advantage?
  14. I dunno something about that pic is just off to me- showing the same drill with different batteries and they don't have the new compact recip in there, just the old one
  15. There is a wood working, metal working, and automotive category... would it be a stretch to have trade specific categories? I know it's a tool forum but it might encourage more membership or just be a place where trade guys that are already members here can talk without having to go to another trade specific site.
  16. That's not a drill mode that's for self tapping screws
  17. Yea to me it is. Everyone's uses are different but to me I'm regularly cutting drywall and wood they just seem like they last forever
  18. impacts are ok for one or two holes but if you're drilling to run wiring then I'd use a drill. The impact will be louder and slower. I think you'll answer some of ur own questions once u actually drill a few holes in something
  19. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Dremel-Multi-Max-1-5-8-in-Oscillating-Tool-Universal-Carbide-Flush-Cut-Blade-For-Wood-Metal-and-Cement-MM485U/206384731
  20. Yea that's all we use now, I think dremel makes them, from Home Depot
  21. So my house was built in 64, small ranch with a walk out basement. Over the past 8 years I've completely remodeled it inside and out. Refinished floors, doors, trim, closets, baths, kitchen, I've painted like 5 times, dehumidifier runs year round.... and I cannot get that old musty smell out of my house! We are going nuts here , wife wants to move, we love the house and property but can't take the smell. Only idea I have left is removing the old lay in attic insulation which is covered with old blow in insulation over top. Anyone have any experience with this? Do you think the attic insulation is the culprit maybe the smell is leaking in thru the recessed can lighting?
  22. Does it stall out easily or bog down easily?I've wanted a compact recip for a while now but after using the m18 brushed hackzall I wasn't impressed and decided to wait for something brushless
  23. lol I was just reading about this saw on your website this morning, I'll have to watch the vid now ?
  24. That's crazy with the 9.0! I'm not opposed to the flex 6.0 on the 996, guy at work just got it and it's a little heavy but seems fine on the drill. I've seen the 9.0 tho and I thought it was huge and heavy. Maybe my memory is off but I remember thinking how much bigger the 9.0 seemed compared to the 6.0
  25. Yea nice van! I just got a new sprinter so I'm sharing your happiness! It's so nice to have room lol. Have you considered some sort of covering over the plywood floor? That's my dilemma right now
