I'm soo glad you share this stuff with us, you are truly an artisan. Great stuff as always.

For the life of me I cant think of a specific use for round nose pliers besides making loops in wires, yet when I'm working on electronics theyre the pliers I reach for almost as much as bent nose.
I believe that is the original purpose but I also use them as smooth-jawed needle nose pliers(If I have the space) because they're more sturdy with less of a gripping pinch point. Also in use mostly for electronics.

This forum has one of my favorite things a forum has, comradery. Forum members here help each other and offer different opinions instead of arguing... but then we pretty much have to refer to everyone by their screen name. How about adding "Name" (first name) above "Location" under the avatar and post count? So when anyone posts, if we quote them we can refer to them by what they go by in day-to-day life instead of a relatively impersonal screenname. Just a thought.
This is where I'm talking about for clarification:

I saw those - what exactly does one use round nose pliers for? Perhaps picking up O-rings?
Mostly working with wire...but they can be used as non-marring(smooth jaw) needle nose pliers, like if you're working on jewelry.

Nice find on the Knipex, BMack. Thanks for sharing the link!
Glad to help!
Not quite as good of a deal but looks like another pair is discounted.
Knipex 30 31 160, long, round nose pliers for $14.16. It is $19.82 on eBay, $15.88 + shipping on jensputzier.com

I have an old Ryobi corded that I inherited that has always worked when I needed it...but I've never heard this question asked and not have Skilsaw win by a large margin, like Coca-cola versus RC Cola margin.

I ended up getting some PB Swiss bits and screwdriver from toollady.com which had a 25% off sale, it basically paid for my shipping, I believe today is 20% off.
Also bought a pair of Mechanix gloves which were $15 shipped for the M-pact 2($30-45 retail). Use SAVE15NOV to save an additional 15%:
That's only about $5 more expensive than the good mechanic gloves at HF.

Definitely depends on the person asking. Most of my friends would buy me a new whatever if they wrencked my tool...but those guys I'd also be willing to help them fix whatever.
Then there is one guy at my shop, buys mostly crappy tools and doesn't take care of them. If he needs to borrow something, I pay attention...but he is very respectful to other's tools, I think it's because he can't afford to replace them.
Neighbors? Two of my neighbors I'd let them borrow whatever they want, anyone else is SOL.
They should replace anything they wreck with the same or better model of the same maker. That's just how a decent human would handle that situation, accidents happen.

Congratulations NER! Thanks for doing this Jimbo!

Congrats! Please post pics when you get it all set up. I didn't buy anything

this is where TV companies get technical and try to confuse the consumer, the higher the Hz number the less blur the best is without enhancements
This is what the industry is built on...You know how many people think a LED TV is a different technology from a LCD TV? It's terrible how bad the industry tries to deceive the public.

Thanks for this!

The new ones have red on the shank, similar to how Dewalt uses yellow. But yeah, the new ones are less than three months old(In the US, not sure about Norway) so you're definitely right in your assumption
It's really hard to trust Milwaukee bits after the first shockwave, there are a lot of things to complain about but the softness of the steel really makes you question any bits coming out of that factory. The general consensus on Milwaukee's pliers are along the same lines but not as extreme.

My purchase date is planned for either first week of December, or first week of February. I really appreciate all the help your offering, this is what makes TIA a great place to hang out.
Sorry it took soo long, looks like there are four effected models though I didn't search online if there were others that have been found...this is just my shop's experiences.
All four have Sharp panels, which are also found in other Vizios so again it may not be limited to these four:
601I-A3
601I-A3E
701I-A3

Do a followup on Kobalt you probably will be surprised.
They seemed very similar to the basic Bosch bit, though obviously not the same finish. I'll probably buy some, need to go any try to find gen 2 Milwaukee bits also. I have tomorrow off so I might hit up HD and Lowe's for these bits. Also need to look if Ryobi and Ridgid have any bits that will work for me.

The Stanley battery booster the guys had in yesterday's video is $10 off! $50 for a name brand lithium jump starter is pretty darn good.

I really like the Blue Point(though it's not rated for impact). Wiha, Felo and Wera(Haven't really messed with the Harpoon) are all hard to pick from, it's like comparing apples to other apples from the tree next to it.
My favorite that you can find in HD/Lowes is the one I almost didn't buy; the Makita. My favorite was Bosch coming into this and it's now far from the top, near the bottom. Dewalt seems pretty good but it doesn't seem to fit as well as the European and the Makita bits.
Milwaukee is still my least favorite, though I've found it fits better in JIS screw heads which nearly solves the camming out/quick wear problem. One thing to note is that EVERY SINGLE ONE of these bits fits better in either phillips or JIS better than a Klein screwdriver fits in any of the same screws, was not expecting that.
I've come to prefer the smaller head bits, they seem to fit better into a wider range of screw heads. The Dewalt doesn't seem to fit as well in smaller sized PH2 screws, it really prefers the deep PH2 screw heads.

Here are the other 10 bits:

Here are the high-ish resolution pics of the bits. I limited width to 1000 pixels so it was forum friendly.
This is a pretty poor picture of the anti-cam machinging so here's further pictures:

That's the second one that has been under $9 in the past week! The first(5" short round nose, 37 33 125) one lasted about a day, both were not in stock but able to order. Will post if there are any more, definitely a steal that everyone should jump on and consider if you need it later.

No Bmack was conducting the test, not sure if he had an WIha. I do believe he was using all longer bits though, slide over to his thread under accessories and he has some good information on there.
Used them today they are nice, they really grab the screws and have showed no signs of damage to the bits themselves.

I do have a Wiha! Thanks for reminding me of that thread, I forgot to post the pics of the bits. Feel free to chime in about these bits Jimbo

I heard good things about Harbor Freight boxes but I would be looking at spending more than twice at HF the 56" bottom is $799 and the top would be $429 I hear nice things but way more money than the Husky.
Ahh, I didn't realize they were that much more, like I said I didn't price those. What do you plan on putting in the box? You know, I was liking the 52" but those smaller/taller drawers in the 41" seem like they'd be nice. It also gives you some extra space for a cabinet or shelves.
-
I don't think the shallow drawers are a bad thing, the metal on these are a little flimsy compared to others, even HF's boxes...I mean they work well, I have a Husky box but I don't know how well it will hold up to a lot of weight. You should take a look at the HF boxes, they're surprisenly good. If I didn't get such a good deal on my Husky box, I probably would have bought one from HF. I'm not sure how the prices on the HF boxes compare, I wasn't pricing boxes that large.
Then you can buy Craftsman or Snap On logos on eBay
I definitely like the top two boxes though, I'd lean towards that 52" myself.

First name, nickname, whatever...even if it is your user name, something a friend would call you. I'm a full believer in keeping anonymity online to protect yourself, so I definitely would NOT request full name for all to see...especially if you're like me with a unique last name. The thing that initiated this post was I saw a member refer to another member as a number from their username. That felt soo impersonal, though I know that wasn't the intent. I just felt as though that impersonal greeting didn't fit the tone of this forum, think it may also drive more users when they see everyone refering to each other by name/nickname...I've seen in on other forums, specifically cigar forums.
