  1. Hey, guys, sorry I didn't respond to the recent posts. I had subscribed to the thread but didn't get a notification of new posts. As was already mentioned, Festool has asked all dealers to suspend taking additional order for the Pro 5 Sander. We have not been provided any additional information at this point. Should we get information from Festool that affects our customers' orders, we will proactively reach out to everyone with more information via email. @DR99 this promotion was done because I think Festool realizes that many folks give price as a reason for not trying their tools. So, the price barrier was removed with this $99 sander deal, letting people who otherwise may not have tried Festool an opportunity to experience what their tools and brand are all about. Please feel free to reach out to me via PM or email if you have any specific questions. Always glad to help out. Shane shane@toolnut.com
  2. Well, it's really hard to say without knowing what types of projects/work you do. But, I'll make a few generally recommendations. You simply cannot go wrong with the TS 55 REQ track saw. It's the tool I use the most. Great for all sorts of applications but it really shines at breaking down sheet goods. The cut quality is exceptional, very easy to use and super accurate. One of the biggest advantages that Festool offers is phenomenal dust collection. So, a HEPA Dust Eextractor would be a great complement to this sander and can be used with other tools, even those that aren't made by Festool. The CT SYS is Fetsool's most compact and portable dust extractor and it's HEPA. It's the same form factor as a Systainer, so easy to stack and go. Great for working on the jobsite for remodeling jobs. The CT MINI/MIDI is a step up in capacity and portability since it has wheels. The CT 26/36/48 are the biggest units and the CT 26 is the most popular. Festool makes some brilliant sanders. If you're getting the ETS 125 then its best companion could be the Rotex RO 125. This sander is a work horse and very powerful. It has a gear-driven mode that strips material at the speed of a belt sander. Flip back to random orbital mode and it's a finish sander with a 5mm stroke. So, it would complement the finish sanding capabilities of the PRO 5 sander. Those are a few of my recommendations. If you have questions about a specific tool or tool category, let me know. Hope that helps, Shane Thanks! I tend to lay low and try not to be spammy. So, I just hope in when I see a thread where I can answer questions and be helpful.
  3. Hey guys, Shane from the Tool Nut here. Want to thank @DR99 for sharing this smokin' deal with you guys. Just want to make myself available if anyone has any questions that I can answer. Feel free to ask here, via PM or email at shane@toolnut.com. Thanks, Shane
  4. Not evil... Really. I'm a saint trying to keep you fellas from overspending by $200 on one. Ha. Shane
  5. Thanks, Hugh. Glad you received everything in good order. I appreciate you posting about your experience. If anyone's interested, we have just a handful of the Fein AFSC 18V cordless Supercuts left at $299, normally $499. Plus we're pitching in two extra batteries. Heck of a deal. Shane
  6. Nice, I didn't hear that we had gotten them in, but yes it looks like the DCN660D1 (kit version) is in stock. The bare tool version is still not in our system as being in stock. So, the DCN660D1 is ready to ship it appears.
  7. Glad to be here, guys. Thanks for the welcome. We have the DeWalt DCN660's on order and the most recent information that I have is an anticipated launch date of 10/15. I have emailed our DeWalt guy to see if he can confirm. He just responded and said that it's possible that they may be delayed and it may be more like 2 weeks until they ship from DeWalt. I'll update the thread as soon as I hear something more solid from him. Basically, we're just waiting for our shipment at this point. Anyone who pre-orders these, we will not charge your credit card until the product ships. And, we'll turn this around the same day we receive them and ship them to customers who have ordered. Shane
  8. @JasonC, Shane from The Tool Nut here. I want to apologize for the negative experiences with your recent orders. This is definitely egg on our face and I can completely understand your frustration. I would be upset too. Anyone who has had an issue with their Fein order, please contact me for assistance - shane@toolnut.com. Just to explain the situation with the wrong batteries... Those drills were received from Fein and began shipping the next day. They were all marked with the correct product number and markings on the box as ASCM 18 QX models, which are supposed to have 4Ah batteries. The QXC is supposed to come with the smaller 2Ah batteries. My suspicion is that we got a handful of units that were old inventory that were manufactured before the higher capacity batteries started being used. While I hate passing the buck, because this is ultimately on us, we had no reason to believe that the drills would have the wrong batteries. Edit: I should mention that as soon as we learned of this problem with the batteries, we went through all of our remaining inventory to check the batteries. As for the Supercut being shipped wrong, I just found out about this on Friday afternoon and the warehouse was looking to see what happen. But, we take full responsibility for the screw up. Anyone who was affected by this errors, we will quickly fix the mistake for you and try to make it as hassle-free as possible based on the circumstances. These types of mistakes are extremely rare and this was a bit of a perfect storm scenario. Again, please accept our apologies for the mess up. Shane
