  1. I got the sheet rock for free that's why am using eight foots I'm just worried is it OK to run horizontal and vertical on the same wall or not
  2. But is it OK to run the majority of the wall horizontal and then a piece or two vertical or does the entire wall have to go horizontal
  3. To the right of the right Window in the below picture there is about a 4' x 9' space. Would it be OK to run drywall vertical in that spot. That way it's just one piece instead of running to horizontal there. My only concern is that if I run it vertical, under the right window the piece I put there will be a butt against a long side which is sloped/angled. I know it's not ideal but is it OK to have a butt and angled side touching. Will it cause and issue when I tape and mud? Or is it just gonna be the same as 2 butts. On the vertical butts I have, should I be doing anything to curve in the flat butt ends?
  4. Got 1 more up this morning and another for the right side cut. Time to go to work now.
  5. Yea it was not the best cut where the 2 boards met. I was gonna fill in with caulk then tape and mud. I have been leaving a 1/2" at the bottom off the concrete. I was also going to fill that gap with caulk I think and then run molding against the floor
  6. Today's progress with one arm I cut a metal band at work and it shot straight in between my tendons so that's my job is she right now
  7. There are also a few things like this... the headers above the windows will sit back about 1/2" in. Should I put foam board in that space above the window before I drywall there or is it fine to just have that cavity there. it looks like the headers are doubled up if you look to the right of the header there's a hole and it's about 1 to 2 inches deep should I knock the hose out and fill this big gap with foam?
  8. OK so I still haven't hung the sheet rock yet I hurt myself but the other issue is I think I'm being OCD about the insulation. There are a few spots and corners Where I basically ripped apart smaller pieces of insulation and stuck them in the crevices. I'm still worried about them not being covered with craft paper. I have a roll of craft paper and tape should anything pink thats showing be covered up with the kraft paper before hanging the drywall. Also there are a few spots where there's two or three 2 x 4 studs that are all connected to each other and aren't even. should they be sanded flatter real quick with grinder or should I just cover the faces with caulk and then screw the sheet rock down...?
  9. interesting. I just would hate getting it and really never using again. was hoping there was a nice adaptor for my drills that would work.
  10. Hey whats up Carl, they are 9 foot ceilings with a attic above. I am thinking starting from the left bottom and laying horizontal...
  11. thanks Eric, your the man as always. If he can not do it in a day, please let me know. I will work from a business account and do it as a consultant or just free if you want.
  12. its a 1 day fix. just confused...
  13. me too. the admins need to hire someone or get with someone who can...
  14. So i opened the DeWalt adapter (2nd picture) and no good. I can not set the depth or anything like i thought. it drives the screw way too deep. Its a damn shame that nothing is getting replies right now since this site is not working with Tapatalk...
  15. kidding me right....! what the hell is going on guys? its still not working on tapatalk (and i am sure a lot of other apps). why is this not fixed yet? its an easy fix from the admin control panel and a few min of coding. I can fix it if you would like. there are a TON of IT guys on here. please reach out to one of us and let them know exactly the forum issue working with things and i or anyone can fix This server has taken a HUGE plunge in activity and posts. 70% of us were all using it with tapatalk and a few android apps. Its been dead here and its a shame. lets fix this and get the site back to how it used to be....
  16. I know the first post is going to be buy a drywall gun or using a drywall gun is better but this is for the people they don't have one or aren't going to need one in the future. What do you guys recommend and what do you use? at Home Depot all they sell is a Dewalt 4 pack of drywall little knobs for a drill, their poor quality and they're all crooked they suck. I am using a Milwaukee M18 Fuel drill. These are the ones I am taking about: Tonight I picked this one up, it looks like it might be a little bit better but I'm not sure if it's going to do the correct screw depth into the drywall. Has anybody used it for drywall? What I really need is one that I can adjust the height and then lock.
  17. OK so I am making progress and will start to hang drywall in the next two or three days. I still need to decide whether I'm going to lay it vertical or horizontal but my main concern now is what drill to use to hang it. Should I just use my Milwaukee M18 Fuel drill with those drywall bits or would it be better to pick up a dedicated drywall gun? I'm pissed Milwaukee hasn't released their drywall gun yet but I was at Home Depot yesterday and saw this one for 50 bucks get it or just use my fuel drill...?
  18. Guys i also need advice about starting to dry wall! where should i start? haha. left or right, etc? can someone draw a rough layout in paint over this pic or something?
  19. so i know it was not necessary, but i have an extra roll of ramboard tape (brown paper tape). I used it to tape a lot of spots that were not perfect and also where bats met. not sure if it well help, but cant hurt i guess. Nail plates or w/e you call them the metal plates you put on the stud in front of remex... go crazy and put in every single space or just where i may nail
  20. Hey guys not sure if this is a big deal or not but I've been noticing over the past few months that my fuel drill is starting to wobble almost like an impact driver does. it was perfect when I first got it but seems to be getting worse. It's not just with this longer extension it's with drill bits, my hole saws, even small or short bits too... I originally thought then a few things were bent but they are not. Everything on the drill seems tight, is this normal for an eight month old drill that's used around the house for DIY? I have attached two videos below, let me know if anyone needs to see anything else. https://youtu.be/wRZ5Bp-vENM https://youtu.be/75b0YpFFyM4
  21. amazing. recorded 45 secconds of a tv show and youtube blocks it.... how can i upload a video and share via link?
  22. ok guys i had to share this haha. I am not gonna tell you why i thought it was so funny/pathetic but let me know if you also notice, maybe its just me ...white vinyl wiring. This is recorded from the show Rehab Addict. She is the host and the CEO of the company... She has a show on TV and claims online she does and knows how to do almost all the work.... amazing! You might have to turn up your volume up a little... Here is the link to the video: https://youtu.be/OyZP8Exmwrc
  23. Thanks guys. Anyone have any good videos or guides that may help me not miss anything
  24. Also, before i do any more insulation tonight, See the pic below. there is about 4" of drywall around the top of the walls. I think its there so they could tape the corners at the top when it was put in. Should I rip this out around the top of both the walls or should i just run the new drywall up to it and tape and mud the seam??
