  1. Yes i know... Not the best looking caulk and sealing jobs, but i thought who cares it works just as good as if i made it look nice for the pics, haha. My questions are the following right now... - Around the receptacles, should I tape around them since its does not look like i did just a great cutting job with the insulation? - Should I tape the seams of any place on the insulation? ...and if so, what kind of tape should i be using? - I just stuffed some extra pink insulation around the windows. Should I be using foam or sealing? - At the bottom of the walls (where the horizontal 2x4 is connected to the concrete) should that be sealed as well? - At the top of the walls, should the also be sealed? - Should i be using rigid anywhere or is it ok to use the paper faced insulation everywhere? - Should i be covering everything with a plastic vapor barrier before i have the drywall or not needed b/c this is paper faced? I want to make sure i do not miss anything big before i have all my drywall in a few days, so if anyone see's things wrong please let me know before its too late, I want honest feedback/help and usually seem to find it on here.
  2. I thought I would start this thread & keep updating it as I go, I really like seeing other peoples projects from start to finish. I also thought since this is my first time doing this alone, i would ask questions here when i get stuck. I live in a 4 bedroom 3 bath house w/ a 2.5 car garage. Only 2 of the 4 walls have drywall (ones touching the inside of the house) & it has bothered me for a while now (I spend a lot of time in the garage). This was a weird project from the start b/c my walls are not OSB or plywood, they are rare for my area & style of house ... solid gypsum board. Took me a while to learn this, I have a thread about the walls a while back on here about it, you can also see the original pics of the garage there too -- http://bit.ly/2bqYi57 So far, i have used foam and caulk in places that there were holes in the gypsum, around the 2x4's where there were gaps, around the receptacles, and a variety of other places I tough air could come thru. I then found a good deal on some R-13 rolls at HD that were bonus rolls w/ extra in them. I have used 2 rolls so far for this wall. looks like it will take about 1 more to finish this one... I have some questions which i will post in the 2nd post here after the pictures below...
  3. Its still not working on Tapatalk... wtf is going on?
  4. I have two more bedrooms to do. bear went ahead and sent me two free gallons of marquee for all the issues. Do I really want to use this shit and finish since it was free or should I just save it and buy some Sherwin Williams and finish
  5. I have had my eye on one of these Milwaukee fans for a while now is it powerful. when I compared my small plug-in one to this it looks like my plug-in generated five times more air?
  6. Is this at all HD's. I really need one
  7. I think the boots are pretty cool would definitely be nice to have one for my drill to protect it better I don't know why they only make them for the wrenches
  8. OK so I painted my walls about two weeks ago I went ahead and used nine dollar! a roll blue painters tape that's made for delicate or w/e they call it now.... I painted the baseboards and about 15 min later I very very gently remove the tape and a bunch of spots on the wall peeled off marquee)! So I was fed up and called bear today I submitted pictures and spent over two hours on the phone apparently they're going to review and let me know if you'll send me two more gallons ... Quite frankly shit sucks I don't want to use it again but I may do another room if it's free. I'll just make sure I need to add a lot of floetrol
  9. Another great video, thanks again. Learned a lot!
  10. So I thought the boots were only for the torque wrenches. But I just saw this on IG. Are they available for all the tools outside the US or do they fit some how. First time I have ever see on a impact driver...
  11. Please post pics we would all like to see
  12. I thought $40 a gal was a lot, but I just heard that it could be $60 a gal for sherwin??
  13. Yea for $40 a gallon it's bullshit. I have a few spots of the wall where it pealed off! I think you need to use floetrol with the paint or it dries too fast and never bonds right.
  14. I thought I would start this thread b/c it could be used by everyone who has a house/apartment. Does anyone have suggestions on this topic. For example using 3" screws on the Jams instead of the 1" little ones that come with the hinges....
  15. This is the start to painting my bedrooms and then garage. I gave the "1 coat guaranteed" Behr Marquee a try and boy was it shit! I will never use it again. I will be doing a Behr Marquee review in here too. As well as comparing it to Sherman Williams which I will use in the 2nd bedroom. This is the first coat (the one that was guaranteed to be perfect! haha. More holidays then using cheap paint! This is the 2nd coat of Marquee and most of trim done at this point used "China white" Marquee for the trim. Again the paint was shit, I had to add floetrol to the trim paint just to be able to even use it. Literally I would paint about a foot of trim then go back to dip brush and when I would continue to paint ur last foot was already dry and pealing.
  16. Clamps... so i need another one that is bigger then the little guy the R3 came with. what do you guys there would be better and more utilized... the reason i am asking is b/c i have a coupon that Lowe's honors that takes 50% off a single item. 6" clamp, this one seem to be the most widly used one, but i could be wrong: This one looks great, but only for after the holes are drilled, right? So would need 2 just to utilize this one? or the 8" bar, seems to be not too small and not to big...
  17. I really want the larger kit with the clamp seems like it be much much nicer in the Jager also is solid metal where the drillbit goes. Seems like I could do a lot more with the clamp one instead of the R3. Both would be ideal does anybody have the are three XL it's the one made for 2 x 4's and larger that really looks handy
  18. Wow you're right thanks a lot it's a great tip!
  19. I picked this up at a random HD I have never been to before. Was $30 and free clamp too good to be true? Honestly quality feels like bullshit to me! New: After testing 3 times after I got it (Milwaukee fuel drill): ....and this jig in soft wood = shit holes in my mind. Am I expecting too much from this?
  20. 200 bucks for a fucking battery that is just quite frankly absurd.
  21. FYI EVERYONE: Ace Hardware sent out coupons in the mail (if you didn't get them ask friends or you can call Ace corporate and they will send). It's 4 coupons for July 25-29. One is $10 off $20 or more and one is 50% off $25 or more. As well as 2 others. Ace sells Kreg so gonna use the 50% off!!
  22. So I went to buy the R3 kit today. It was $40, but the clamps are $30 each alone! They were out of clips so I didn't get anything. I guess I will be trying some coupons. Got a lot of good ones from ace hardware
