  1. Currently DeWalt deems 2.5ah to be the largest capacity 18650 cell they will use, 20700 cells offer significant improvements, so much so that Panasonic/Sanyo and Elon Musk are investing BILLIONS in this form factor. So its not science fiction to think that 4ah or even 5ah cells can become a very real thing.
  2. taking clues from this 6ah, add an other row of 20700 cells and that should give your imagination just how big the 9/3 Flex will be...... its gunna be huge! I'm already struggling with the thought of seeing this 6 on an 887. Also kinda worth noting is the price $189 = 12ah vs HD's Milwaukee price of $199 for the 9ah(yes I know they can be had for less, just comparing current in store prices)
  3. Yeah that sticker is horrible! They should have stuck with the older style
  4. Since Lowes doesn't carry FlexVolt I couldn't side by side them but Id say they are roughly similar sized but are different, if that makes any sense.
  5. Lol yup! Was gunna post the pics there but these are big enough for their own topic
  6. Just happened across em, took a pic of the 4ah for size comparison.... Man these are big!!!
  7. I see(or rather hope to see) DeWalt transitioning to more 20700 cell in new packs, with the 6ah and the 9/3ah Flex using them, a 3ah slim pack becomes a real possibility. Wishful thinking? Had a rather good discussion over on Stuart's forum about this possibility.
  8. I'm kinda in the no music crowd, that said i do have a BT speaker i take to my jobs, gotta love audio books!
  9. Wait what 7/16 more durable than 1/4....... since when is bigger better lololololol
  10. Hitachi has a few brushless corded tools, couple SDS hammers come to mind. http://www.hitachi-koki.com/powertools/products/demolish/dh40mey/dh40mey.html
  11. Nailed it.... Who needs a 3d printer? I gotta say my working proto is ugly a hell but stupid simple.... But that's for another time and topic ?
  12. Looks easy to make.... Hummm wheels turning.....
  13. Ah I see your point 985 vs 996, Personally I'd never notice any inconvenience as I never turn the clutch down on the big drill, Big drill = Big holes/ and concrete, little drill = "delicate" work LOL I don't envision Flexvolt going the way of the dodo but at the same time I have no absolute need for anything in the lineup either, though its good to know IF I ever NEED them I'll have a compatible/complementary upgrade path. Thanks for your insight.
  14. Help me out here, I have a 985(and 791 which I prefer, obviously no hammer), whats not to like about the 996 selector? Also I'm trying to understand your logic, your willing to switch platforms while Because your unsure of Flexvolt? Flexvolt expands on your existing tools without investing in a whole other line, I'd think the cost of changing platforms would far and away justify staying with DeWalt.
  15. I have a DCS391 and make rips all the time, no problem. Granted I go through about 4-6 4ah batteries a day but that's what they are for. I don't even own a corded circ saw.
