  1. To take it a step further, I’d like to see a modular approach that allows many Dewalt hand tool & power tool sets to be organized in the Tough System boxes. Each tool/set would either take up a full-size module, half, quarter or eighth-size module. Mix & match to fill. Modules could be available in 2-3 different depths and large boxes could incorporate removable trays for more efficient/layered storage. PLUS: packaged with the clear-lid organizers so it’s easier to know what’s in each box. PLUS: add a catalevered organizer.
  2. That's one more thing I can cross off my wish list...
  3. My wish list: MORE HYBRID DUAL-60V FLEXVOLT! FLEXVOLT 120v hybrid HEPA vac! 120v hybrid 10" table saw 120v hybrid large (24-30") shop fan toughsystem radio that fits FV batteries FLEXVOLT OPE 120v mower telescoping chainsaw 120v Power washer I'll add my 20V wish list while I'm at it: Variable speed rotary tool Bucket-mount fan with mister thats plenty to get me in trouble with the mrs.
  4. This tag is hanging off one on my new boxes. I would not be happy with paying $8 to replace a plastic tab that can't hold up to daily use.
  5. I agree with what has been said here: big draw tool, big battery. Compact tool, compact battery. One is MUCH more likely to migrate a large battery to a compact tool (or LED light) on occasion than the other way around. Red or yellow, most of us have/need two sets of batteries whether we care to admit it or not. I mostly have 2Ah compact and 6Ah flexvolt batteries. I'll add 3/9Ah flexvolt in the near future. I don't bother with anything in-between. What has not been mentioned here is that 20V or 60V, the charger is the same. I may have a charger in my truck, on-site, or on my bench in the garage - I can charge any 20V or 60V flexvolt battery anywhere I want. Feels like one platform to me.
  6. Ugg. It's now listed on Amazon for preorder, but not to be released until April 1. Pre-order price is $349 including a 9Ah (3Ah @ 60v) battery which seem quite reasonable to me considering the batteries are only available in singles today for $200 ea.
  7. I have several Bay trees that grow over a steep, curved driveway. As the bays get tall, they get pretty top-heavy and lean over the drive. When it rains or the winds pick up, branches drop down low enough to make contact with the cars. I have the flexvolt recip and have used it to trim off branches as needed, works great with a 5tpi pruning blade, but it's more of a bandaid/quick fix. A few months ago we had particularly high winds and one of the bays fell over the driveway and we couldn't leave until it was cleaned up. I'm afraid the solution is to remove the bays and plant more appropriate landscaping in their place. i could just buy a cheap chainsaw and get started, but I would prefer electric (as it [hopefully] won't be needed often and I don't like the maintenance & prep involved with scarcely used gas engines. Was hoping to hear that posting on the DeWalt site indicated weeks not months. If another tree or large branch falls, I suppose I'll just have to bite the bullet.
  8. First I've heard of the possibility of interchangeable blades. Only the 16" Oregon is mentioned here. The 18" (46cm) could be useful if the saw proves to have enough power to handle it.
  9. DeWalt put the flexvolt DCCS670 chainsaw (plus blower & string trimmer) on their US site about a week ago. DeWALT DCCS670X1 60V MAX Chainsaw Does anyone know when this will be available for sale? Is there a typical lag time from posting online to general availability? i have some trees & branches that need my attention and I can't wait much longer to start on 'em. This will be my first chainsaw and I already have a few flexvolt tools so it's a natural choice. one other question: DeWalt only mentions the X1 variant (includes one 9Ah battery); is it likely they will release the bare tool, one-battery kit and two-battery kits simultaneously even though I see no mention of the other two SKUs? thanks...
  10. @DPSElias A quick check shows tool barn still shows the two free tools with 5.0Ah kit promo and the free tool with 290L2 drill/driver kit. Depends what you're looking for. also, additional 6.0Ah flexvolt batteries are commonly listed at $179 for a two-pack, no sense buying singles at $149 each. Seems like It's always been a two battery system for me- big batteries with the high draw tools (recip, circ, hammer drill) and compact batteries for smaller, low draw tools (LED light, multi-tool, screwdriver). I found the combination of backward battery compatibility and full compatibility with 20v chargers enough for me to adopt flexvolt. I can still use the same charger(s) for all my gear, which is a plus.
  11. I don't understand... if you want a 20v becauase you already have an investment in 20v batteries, why would you buy an m18 circular saw that is an orphan? At least with a flexvolt 60v, the new battery(ies) will be backwards compatible to your existing 20v gear.
  12. Seems clear to me that CPO is being punished by SBD for for not honoring the lowest advertised pricing guidelines & giving customers a pre-order discount. If so, the slimey b*st*rds are purposefully hurting loyal customers.
