  1. It is the spindle lock and not the screw. Just got off the phone with Milwaukee and I must send it in for them to evaluate. I told them that is very inefficient and they said that it is not just for finding out whether it is under warranty but to EVALUATE whether it is something that is covered under warranty. At least they have you print out a Fed X shipping label and do not charge for the shipping. I guess that I need to continue to use my corded 25 year old Porter Cable for another month!
  2. Purchased this saw last year on Ebay (so no warranty paperwork) and it is indescribably better than my old unit, which would barely cut a few 2 x 4's, even with new lithium ion batteries ( the same can be said about my new hacksaw). I went to change the blade again, pushed down on the Spindle Lock Button, removed the old blade and when trying to tighten the new blade it only semi engages. Just for fun, I installed the battery, pulled the trigger and...nothing. The local repair shop said it may cost more to look at it than it is worth. I began to tear it apart but thought that I might ask you fine folks if this has ever happened to you. I have a service parts list 54-40-2530 open on another tab and I am not sure which parts I may need to replace.
