  1. Broken jaws! Oh no....so sad. You are right about the spec. There was sooooo much dirt inside, it looked a scene from an alien movie. Thanks for the tip.
  2. I need help to dissamble my chuck, it's a Jacobs 500 series keyless single sleeve chuck. I managed to get the bottom plastic off, but thats about it. What do I do next? The Jacobs website was no help at all:- http://www.jacobschuck.com/keyless-precision-chuck-repair-guide I found this instructables to be usefull:- http://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Disassemble-A-Keyless-Drill-Chuck/step3/Remove-Upper-Housing/ But its not a makita chuck and the similarity ends at step 3. My chuck loosen after 30 seconds of use no matter how hard I tighten it.The repair centre only offered to change to a new chuck for USD30, no repairs, So I thought why not see what inside of it. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
  3. Wow, thanks for the tips. I knew somebody will know something, this is really useful! Thanks
  4. Had it inspected at a repair center specializing in makita drill , turns out Jeff and Bremon were right, I let go too agressively. Apparently its in good working condition... with heavy cosmetic wear.
  5. Finally, ah fellow BHP 452 user. It works fine. But would probably have no use for it after my renovations complete. So, it is a brake... that's nice to know.
  6. OK, just the brush. I got scared of the screeching brake sound cause I have my friend's corded AC hammer drill, and they slow down gracefully. Thanks for the tip.
  7. I got myself a used, beat up Makita BHP452 from ebay for my house reno project. It works, it drills. This my first drill.... what do I need to look out for on used Hammer drill, currently they have sparks coming out of the rear cover. And it seems to be having a "braking sound" (short screeching) whenever I stop drillling, Is this normal? I like taking care of my machines, I cant help it, especially if they serve me well. Thanks for any tips. If anyone want to get a used Makita in 2 months time, I'll be happy to sell. Ha ha!
