  1. First off congrats Travis and second the fire stick Is pretty damn nice bro we've had ours for about a year now and watch all the theater movies some times quality isn't there but can't really complain though either that's stick paid for itself in 2 movies cus I probably spend about $100 bucks for my family of 7 to have a good time at the theaters

So Fire tv has a way to stream current theater releases? Is it like VUDU where you can rent the movies individually, or is it another subscription within the fire tv? Sorry for all the ?'s, I've been a Roku user for a while, so I've never bothered to look into fire tv, since I can access my prime video library from the Roku.

  2. Yeah like 90% of my opinions are conveyed through my favorite finger. My work environment tolerates me being an a-hole because they're all pricks too. I don't think customers would like my feedback when they tried to tell me that the customer is always right.

Trust me I completely understand. My favorite GC has worked with us long enough that he trusts us with a lot. Around here it seems like homeowners(custom homes) let their architect/designer do whatever they want, and we'll see them just a few times throughout the build process. So we meet with the owners when we can, and with the designers as often as possible to make sure that we're up to date on what they want.
Remodels are a bit different, generally a little more customer interaction especially when the place is occupied.
But I have wanted to say a big f*** you all and quit before.
On one job in particular I asked the designer if she needed any floor receptacles in the living room. She said no. I told her to make sure because the flooring was going in the next day, and the ceiling below us would be put in the following week. A month later when the furniture arrived... floor lamps. No closer than 6 feet from the wall. I felt sick, but luckily I remembered the way the floor was framed, and I know how to measure.
But that really pissed me off. And that was just a small dilemma. The good thing is that the GC's whole crew is a bunch of pricks who like to mess with each other and have a good time, but not with the job. we all care about the work we're doing and we're not gonna do shitty work.

  3. I've worked residential jobs when I worked for my dad. I have no desire to ever do any residential job ever in my life ever again. I like doing some work indoor, just not the other aspects.

It's definitely not for everyone. I've met a few journeyman sparkys who did nothing but run conduit in commercial spaces. Two didn't last a week. One stayed with us for years. The only thing about that guy was that he did not want any Forman type responsibility.

  4. Huh, who would have that that the average inexperienced jaghoff whit a powertool cold have hurt himself. Only been to the ER once, New Year's Eve, 11 at night, skid steer related injury. It wasn't from a DIY show. It was from this inexperienced jaghoff having headupassitis and cold feet.

    My mom calls that Dumbassitis

  5.

    What were you using before?

I'm estimating only going through 2 cups a day. I've been trying to cut down. (Maybe I should not have bought it!)
I'm planning on taking it along on vacation in Cloudcroft NM.
A friend is letting us use his cabin, and we're gonna stay there a week.
I have a weatherguard center console in my Transit, so I think I'll be keeping the Kcups there.
Also I always carry water in the van.

  6. Is there a magnetic option for the T5-600? Imho the best electricians meter for the price.

I thought you would have attempted to weld one on already[emoji12]. Also I agree with you on the value of that meter. I think fluke expects people to just clip one probe in the holder, even though it's not always an option. Again here I go complaining about fluke.

  7. Ours is the same, the meter can take the magnet but the clamp can't. Plus the 323 can't do DC amps through the clamp, which is one of the biggest features for me. Gotta be able to read DC amps on our PIE batteries and can't do it with other meters without interrupting the circuit.

My problem with any meter is being able to use it without holding it. The Klein having the lead holder is great and I put a belt clip on the meter to be able to clip it to my pocket or to something to hold it. Using the clamp to hang it works sometimes, but not when you don't have anything to hang it on. The magnet will be a godsend over here, especially on the conveyors.

not many options to place a meter when you're 40 feet up in the air on a scissor lift...

    Exactly

  8. Zero issues with my Klein, and I've compared readings on it with other meters, with our Fluke kit and other meters, and don't find any inaccuracies. Either it's doing good or all of our meters suck...which I guess isn't an impossibility.

The magnet on our Fluke meter came with the kit, don't know if it's common or not. The Klein magnet is pretty cheap, 12 bucks. I'd think they could add it with their meters and just up the price of the meter a couple of bucks. Would save the hassle of ordering the magnet separately.

Again the 323, or at least mine doesn't have the ability to add a magnetic hanger. Smooth back. And there are situations where you if you hang a clamp meter by the clamp, you can't read it well without ducking. I know I'm being a wimp, but I might just give that Klein a shot.

  9. I love it. I use it every day, multiple times a day sometimes. It does exactly everything I need a meter to do, and being able to do DC amps with the clamp instead of interrupting the circuit is a beautiful feature. We have the Fluke 117/323 kit and to be honest the Fluke stuff feels like toys compared to the Klein. I have meters at home, and don't do DC amps so I use it at work. But, every time I use it I think to myself that I'm gonna buy another one to keep at home.

My only gripe, which is my biggest gripe with most meters, is the fact that you can't put the frickin' thing anywhere. It's a pain in the ass trying to meter something and having to figure out where to lay the meter, which is why I bought the magnetic holder.

Yeah you would think with all the different meters/accessories that fluke had they would have incorporated the magnet attachment into most of their meters by now! I lost my last fluke clamp meter[emoji17], and picked up a smaller, lighter 323 to replace it. It's not bad but again, for the money you'd think a few more convenience features! I've been tempted to get a couple of the FLIR cm55's to try out, and maybe down the road a FLIR c2

  10. Not a big deal but I picked up the Klein magnet for my CL800...

How do you like that meter? I've always been a fluke guy, but I wish that they'd have more convenience features for the money. I've almost bought the CL800 just for the lead holder on the clamp.

  11. I have you to thank for the Boss recommendation Conductor. I was torn between the Generac 10 ton kinetic and the Boss 7 ton. I called Log Splitters Direct.com today and the lady gave me the low down and I explanind to her what my needs for an electric log spliter was and her reply was......BOSS,BOSS, BOSS. She said they have a great product line and fantastic customer service. I felt she did me a solid because if you spoke to any other salesperson they would try to sell you the more expensive product.

I had a great tool buying experience today.... Great company to buy from....

That's awesome when a salesperson actually helps You, and not just themselves.

  12.

Hell, I'd buy that for $60 just so I can have a second rotary at work...the Hackzall and impact would be nice at work too. I paid $50 for the rotary bare tool and I got a great deal on that.

I've been curious about the rotary, is it pretty good? My intent was to use it for engraving

  13. Once got a call at 6:00pm that a mobile home was without power in half of the house. Park was located on the creek, and we recently had some serious rain. Water ran underneath the home and got into a junction box that the contractor who was employed by the park installed to connect the new home, after the existing left. Yes a local contractor did this. d61772baeee88219f24fa8206a4333bb.jpg

I guess the old conduit was just broken right off when they pulled the existing home, or they built up the pad for the new one, and the j-box was too low. Either way, they filled the box with Great Stuff! One phase was completely shot, so after cleaning out the the foam and making sure there was enough voltage on the remaining leg, I informed the homeowner that there was not a chance of a proper repair that night, but I would get them lights, and keep their fridge running. I told them that the park owner wanted me to bid the repair work seeing how it was going to be on her dime, and she really didn't care about the quality of work her guy was providing. And that I may not be the one to come back to trench the new line, run the new feeders to the house. So I moved some things and replaced the skirting but left the box uncovered(there wasn't actually a cover) to let the thing dry out properly and I put a sign where the box was located behind the skirting. Followed up next morning with the bid, and were instantly told it was too much. We let the homeowner know, seeing how she called us directly to trouble shoot, and she said that the park electrician was already there measuring for the new underground. She thanked us, and that was the last I heard from them. Crazy to think that same asshole was gonna "fix" their new problem.

  14. Always borrowing my shit. She will never learn. Stretching them out too from the looks of it. Now they won't be as revealing on me. The guys at the grain elevator are going to be pissed when I step out of my truck dressed like a damn monk with those loose fitting rags now.
