Just bought this today for $28 and it works great no leaks and is my first it is kinda old and is a Frankenstein but for they price when I'm low on funds well ehh........

I love them and other hard handles as the rubber grips tend to get sticky and I can't stand that. Snap on is the worst anything rubber they have gets sticky my ratcheting screwdriver can stick to the wall lmao.

My father gave me an old school paladin tools/wear kraft form its orange handled and i have 1 little Allen head newer wera man I want a set bad now I'm gonna have to get some bug don't know which ones to get, maybe the black classics or the 1000v not sure yet .

I bought that ratchet after seeing it here and it was the tightest ratchet I have ever tried very loud as well , I trimmed both the springs and lubes it no2 it's smooth and quite ,it takes nothing to turn it and made the back drag way lower. I trim the springs on alotof my ratchets if they have high back drag.

All my ratchets are truck brand and sk or Williams and maybe a Wright or 2 last count was 90. I also have some craftsman amber handle ratchets from 38-42. I will put together a pic of my favorites it will take some work i need a bigger box bag so everything is crammed in there like sardines every drawer is like that. I'm not a fan of the craftsman speeder ratchet I have I would trade it for sometching and not ask ridiculous just another ratchet I don't have which is alot.

Lol i keep a 50mm/46mm dowidat (gedore) I paid $3 for under the front seat in one car and in the other a 32" matco 1/2-3/8 extension in the other 2 huge tools i never use, also keep a small hammer do the wife as she can't swing the big steel tools she's 4'9 100pnds lol Sour for all the post I had to catch up its been awhile I'm going to bed now lol

No idea but I own both styles the 3870 and 48375 tuff1 ,i stocked up on tuff1 rebuild kits they are old from the 80s or 90s dunno but the grease looks like poop it turned Brown ,I heard they ran out of them already ,I'd imagine they were old stock and due to the design being owned by stanley/facom they are gone for good as they are no longer made for sk, I'm going to be careful with my tuff1s ,I love my rotos the 48375 is my #1 fab next to my Mac axis'.

I have this one I bought off ebay for $70 and I just live the Mac axis I'm dying for a 1/4 I just bid on one fingers crossed ,I have the long non flex 3/8 as well and use it the most. The Mac axis rats are my top pick ,also love the Cornwell 72t, to me the snap ons are over rated. Snap on just came out with the fllf80 copying the mac fork design and added USA to the head ,I might buy one when they are cheaper. I just got the 18" kobalt today after warranting a normal 3/8 funny story it was the only 3/8 on the rack due to father's day I guess so I scored, it's made by the same people who make titan,tekton, and the Mac Taiwan xl rats I have the 18" tekton as well. I got a thing for big rats I hardly get to use just like my 0° xl wrenches very hard to use in cramped quarters or under the car without a lift.

I have the So 3870 like yours it was my dad's it's in beautiful shape probably didnt get used but I love it but not as much as my 48375 tuff1 version it has beautiful chrome and has like 0 back drag it my be my favorite out of my 90 rats , It was my Valentine's present from the wife darn thing was like $98 used and took me a long long time to find ,I don't think they are rare just nobody wants to sell one it's so good. I rebuilt my 3870 to save the original guts and the new gear is black and makes the rat look better and smoother something to keep in mind. It's a shame they don't make this style anymore.

My count is up to about 90 or so and still counting I will have a Gray Canada 3/8 and Williams 1/4 superratchet tomorrow in the mail. When I get them I will do a family photo I have them in 4 drawers spread around. I have a drawer for 1/4 and 3/4 and long 1/2s in th big drawer and rest stacked 2 deep in another as well as a few in the cars and here and there my wife says I have a problem lol. All are mainly truck brand or industrial brand and a couple Europeans , all pro stuff accept for my collectors pieces like Amber handle craftsman from 38-42 and speeder ratchet that's it for craftsman other than 1 rhft. I have yet to buy a proto ratchet yet I just haven't got into those yet. I have no idea how I'll ever use them all some I know won't get used as they are rare but who knows . Pics will follow it will have to do this in the morning my tablet is dead. Oh and nice ratchets guys I love seeing whayother guys are using and what's thier favorites.

Im all about my Snap on soft grip and hard handle ratcheting screwdrivers they are top notch and they best I've used. I do have some (insert number) in one screwdrivers like Ideal and klien but just not a fan of those. My favorite is either my green soft grip or my (holy grail) clear hard handle I rally enjoy using them but find myself using my mini snap on screwguns often as it saves the wrist.

Those ratchets like that are pretty smooth my father has some I have played around with them.

That's a neat little set stick it on ebay and wave good buy is what I'd do but I'm just not a huge craftsman fan I just collect the old rare stuff lik3 the amber handles from1938-42 and other odd ball stuff.

I would go neither I would get Kleins or Wiss if you want to save some money but the Klein's are the best imo they look alot like the Stanley ones, the Lenox don't look bad either but I would go with th American made one's straight up GL cheers!

Large to small, Phillips and slotted seperatly and precision screwdrivers seperatly. Another tip pass on those screwdrivers and hit up KC Tools for a nice set of Wera screwdriversyou won't be disappointed and for the price they are sweet. Or... You can get a set of Witte they are made in Germany and nice as well or you can go USA and get Snap on they are my second fav. If you just don't have the funds I also very highly recommend the Milwaukee screwdrivers they are super nice for the price they can't be beat I bought my set brand new from a flea for $3 lol but I think they are around $20-25 for a set.

Those look wicked nice i just bought the nws made in Germany Irwin pistol grip pliers and compound leverage cutters today and I love them the cutters cut so smooth you don't feel the snap from cutting wires, I just had to try them after seeing the guys do a review on them. I'm a hardcore Klein and snap on guy when it comes to pliers but I'm wanting to try out the German stuff now, but I have sooomany pliers. Vampire tools sent me thier entire line to try out and give feed back on and I can't say I'm impressed with any of it, all the scissors and pliers have a cheapo feel to them but they grip screws great just the teeth don't last long. Ideal sent a pair of red white and blue wire stripper,cutter,crimpers to me as a gift they are alright but nothing compared to my Klein and snap ons of the same type. The Japanese make awesome tools i just bought a now liken 3/8 socket set on ebay I can't wait to receive them .

I've been a Makita guy for the longest I'm just now wanting to go team red.

Would love the gloves I love the Milwaukee screwdrivers I have as back ups and my bit set and the drill bits and hole saws are great. My local flea has usa drill bits in all sizes for $1 I cant stop buying them. I want the 1/2 impact next badly.

I hold Klein close to my heart really my dad was a linesman and a master electrician and he used Klein exclusively. He had just given me his left over Klein and his snap on collection and I'm thrilled I asked for them for something to remember him by when he's gone and to have an heirloom to pass down one day. His tools were the best thing and I have 2 brothers both a decade older than me and I know they will be mad when they find out lol. Anyways those look like nice strippers I have the yellow curved handle one's and love them I also have the same style in snap on and ideal, the ideals were sent to me as a gift they are red white and blue they came from ideal with a big sticker saying donated by ideal lol. They seem cheap compared to my Klein's but the snappy pair are better yet. I love the d2000 linesman pliers they are very nice I have many pliers and for linesman Klein wins in my book. You should check out the new Irwin pliers made in Germany by nws the guys just did a review on them and man they are sweet I got mine today from Lowe's they are not cheap fyi. The compound cutters are so smooth you don't feel the cut at all no snap. I skipped the combo pliers and just got the cutters and the odd 90 degree handle long nose pliers with cutters and a odd feature to turn bolts? Not use to this type. Anyways back to Klein I think they are all top notch tools accept the screwdrivers they are close to being poo really the tips are garbage imo. Milwaukee's are way better in that aspect only. I have a very large Klein collection I have all the basics at least they offer and I enjoy using them all even the poopy screwdrivers as i get that nostalgic feeling as im a sentimental guy and my dad is getting old and my family atleast with me die in the early 70s hes 63 my 6 kids dont have much time left to hang out with papaw. I have 1 son to pass my tools onto one day if he wants them hopefully but I doubt as he and most other kids in this day and time all play video games and don't build or fix anything in today's throw away society. It's so hard for me to pic a favorite as I like and appreciate the differences in all the brands I have. I like to buy the same tools in all the brands I like just to compare and enjoy using different brands really. I avoid rebadged tools from the truck brands and don't buy store brand tools I do like the old williams made kobalt and buy them when I find them as I get them cheap a lot of people confuse them with the junk Danaher carp they made, I do have a lot of older USA craftsman but don't use any of it and hate Sears and refuse to enter one and look at craftsman as disposable at least the ones I own. I have nothing against proto it's I just developed the taste for truck tools and now I have so many tools getting into another brand does me no good as I'm out of room. I own a 100+ piece blue point socket and wrench set in a case I keep in the trunk of the car and aside from my Euro tools and power tools I have pretty much all USA tools minus small things I've had to get from harbor freight or it has been rebadged or out sourced. For pliers my vote goes to Snap on which makes up most of my collection of pliers as I love the talon grip styles and then fact I can get green I have a fondness for green tools all other truck brand pliers are rebranded channel lock and knipex it seems. I do plan to buy a couple pairs of knipex, the pliers wrenches and cobras which are not something snap on has and gotta try them. I'm not crazy about anything else snap on has really as I like to walk a different path I guess it seems snap on is pretty much like white cars it's everywhere lol. The snap on stuff I do have is like special edition atleast screwdrivers and power tools really just the colors are different but I'm a firm believer in snap on sockets and wrenches but like Mac wrenches as well I like the square beams on macs. I own all brand sockets and like cornwell impacts best and Mac second snap ons are too soft.lol wrote a book it seems but so much to type it's tiff not to. No shame in store brand tools I'm just ocd I guess with tools now but used to not care what brand the tool was just thought of them as a tool just to fix something instead of a collection or an investment and I wrenched for a living at a junk yard. I'm sure this comes up often but not a thread for it so here we go let's here what you guys like Snap on, Mac, Matco, Sk, Proto ,Cornwell, hazet, facom, beta and so on if you don't have pro tools it's okay whatever you have and it's your favorite or favorites let it be known, should be no shame in anyones game lol. It's a tough one for me as on own all the top brands in every basic tool as I was to taste them all and compare them as well as use and enjoy them. Right now I have been on a Cornwell binge as they are different over the usual Snap on or Matco or Mac.I really don't have a favorite but also like Mac and Sk the TK Tuff 1 ratchets are so smooth , smoother than my Snap on Dual 80s, Mac Axis 90t's, Matco 88s and Cornwell 73t's I love ratchets and have just about any pro brand you can think of in older and newer styles but have no Proto nothing wrong with them I just haven't got into them as I prefer more Mechanic based brands but do have a some Wright and Williams. Enough about me let's hear what you guys like.

I've had rust fall in my eyes a bunch of time and grinding particles or what ever and gas, brake fluid and anti freeze fill my eyes and my mouth after an idiot opened my radiator cap while engine was hot and thermostat was stuck shut and I've had a lot of dirt and even bugs get in my eyes it seems I have the worst luck when working on things or riding motorcycles lol. Yeah you got lucky I learned to wear safety glass even when riding as getting things in your eye specially under eye lid sucks bad and can ruin your day I've had my eye get scratcheted and it sucked bad.safety first lol

Just because my wife's grandpa owns Lucas oil don't mean I like Lucas oil really I like royal purple but if you got anything you want for free by the cases you'd use nothing but Lucas oil as well lol and they have everything even car detailing products. I've never used amsoil but I'd say they don't sell half the products or have a global market as wide as Lucas even the racing sponsorships even they sponsor everything and are official oil of Nhra. My wife's uncle races top fuel for the Lucas oil/ geico team and her 1st cousin races off road trucks. I get a lot of free race tickets but never get to go even tractor pull tickets also foot ball tickets as the Indianapolis Colts stadium is named Lucas Oil Stadium I did go to a game on thanksgiving we went with her grandpa, we got to go on the field during the 3rd quarter right by the cheerleaders lol. We don't get to do much as we have 6 kids 5 together and it's hard to travel. Some ratchets you can't use grease in as it makes the pale stick or could cause slippage depends on style ratchet. I think round heads and fine tooth require lighter lube but snap on uses super lube which is synthetic grease but it's not real thick. I use to use white lithium grease and had issues.

I wouldn't think it would hurt to lube a proto ratchet as I have lube my snap on, matco, sk, beta, mac, and others and it has helped all even the loudest low tooth count. The red assembly lube that's thin isn't The same as the Lucas oil the consistency is like molasses or something very much like the heavy duty oil stabilizer that they sale. It's very sticky but yet very slick works great and has jammed up or made a ratchet skip at all. I use a lot of Lucas oil products as I get it free because my wife's grandpa and step grandma are the owners of Lucas Oil.I'm not in any way advertising thier products. Just giving a suggestion on a good ratchet lube and it's 100% USA made and technically my family owned company. Can't say any of the other products are anything spectacular really as oil is oil to me and I never used any of it till I met my wife. They make a lot of fix its in a bottle and I don't believe in that stuff at all but I have worked where they mix and bottle most of the stuff and I know what goes into it at least kinda as most is pretty much top secret formulas per say and even had to sign a paper saying I won't release any information on the products lol even had to sign a prenuptial agreement when I got married as it's a family policy basically. I come from a pretty much poor family not quite use to this life style or well being around wealthy people or specially visiting someone is a mansion. I can say the rest of my wife's family are about average living just her grandparents are living the high life. Enough about me and my personal life I'm sure you guys don't want to here it lol. I'd rather chat about tools anyway as I love to buy and collect tools pretty much my only hobby and peace as I have 6 kids so my garage is my happy place. Love ratchets the most ill have to take some tool box pics it's just so cluttered as I need a bigger box big time I have way to much in it .

Im a hilti man myself i have expensive taste i glues because I'm no pro but I absolutely love my hilti hammer drill and impact driver it is made top notch and just feels and looks better than the other brands and the 20 year warranty can't be beat at all. I also have the 18v Makita set as well and it just feels cheap compared to my hilti set and my step father has the Bosch set and my hiltis are better still so I have to say go hilti which truly are the best you can get they are the pinnacle of power tools and usually for pros or large construction companies but worth every last penny.
