  1. If it was far and away superior in every way I can see the justification of a much higher price.....kind of like the way Hilti feels about their tools, they are superior and the price reflects that, Now is it really worth that price difference , that’s a question for the buyer to ask themselves...but the tool itself is much better.
  2. I’d say technically maybe....in the real world I’ve never noticed a difference at all...question is ...do you have the time to wait for a slow charge ? Diy, homeowner stuff...Or do your tools make you money. Who cares if a battery dies prematurely if that battery charged fast many many times to make you loot....the money that battery made you by charging faster and being used ,clearly out ways the cost to replace it a little sooner then normal....
  3. Perfect example today, pouring rain and the masons started the fireplace in the cellar ,laying block...they tried a corded saw to cut block and it kept tripping,so I unplugged them, then they got the gas sthil cutter out, way to much exhaust smoke, in the cellar ,so I told them shut it down, I have too many guys breathing the exhaust....this Dewalt cordless would have been perfect for them, I’m sure Dewalt will sell many of them. Ya there’s other cordless saws but using Dewalts means the batteries go to the other tools also...seems every company is ramping up their game.
  4. Ya the max can drill larger holes but man oh man did the sds plus 20v kick ass....gotta give props to Hilti with a 5yr old design still whooping ass...of course price is a factor ,ouch.....I do love Dewalt tools for a reason...POWA
  5. Anyone see the sds shoot out on “oz tool”..Hilti reins supreme on a 5yr old sds..of course 2x the price of the other brands.....Makita had the best value and of course the other results are there also....
  6. Thanks for the info....don’t like that step trigger
  7. Ya now I know ...I couldn’t. figure out that trigger...stepped hugh? Seemed weird thought it was my tool and hard to press fully....not liking it.....probably going back..
  8. I’ll agree with that, it get seriously piled up as you cut...
  9. Yo .. @Hugh Jass did you see the oz tool review ? The sds plus we have was second only to Hilti but Hilti was twice the price....great tool thanks for convincing me to get it....
  10. Hi @kat..I can understand your point and the points made after your comment. I’m a framer in the USA, east coast. I can say unequivocally that cordless tools are ready and in some cases have more power and perform better then there corded counterpart. Runtime is a concern, so anyone embarking on a cordless platform knows that multiple batteries are a must.and the best blades for the job... ...The problems with tripped breakers and a fight for outlets or no power at all ,lends itself to the use of cordless tools. The convenience and safety factors outway any down side to cordless tools, at least for our companies. Makita makes some great cordless tools, very innovative company. I’m a Dewalt guy, but thought I’d chime in on the performance of cordless tools...Best of luck...
  11. Definitely the best Makita cordless saw, if I was a Makita user I’d be very happy. ...but
  12. I do like Ryobi ...I bought a cordless rigid router to replace my old cordless Ryobi router..then bought the new Ryobi cordless router to replace the rigid router ..the Ryobi has less features but works much smoother and seems like more power, then the cordless rigid...
  13. Reading the replies , and my own....I think the saw is misunderstood..The blade size is perfect. My buds a roofer {tiles, stone) and mason...this is perfect for indoor use (I think you know why) and outside..brick,stone,rebar,roof tile, cement blocks..all cut much easier and emissions free...it’s not designed for cutting foundations or a hole in one....the same as the sthil battery one is used for, except you can use the batteries in all your cordless tools......there are good videos on the sthil 230.... .....it’s the same thing except in a Dewalt line of ordless tools,
  14. Ya ya @JimboS1ice...Festool is outta my area, of work tools....But ,I’m sure if I was a shop guy I’d be green and grey too ! Lol.....but for now,,Red is the new Yellow [12v]
  15. Let us know how it works... @jrs5565..at 2lbs heavier then the Dewalt I hope it delivers for you...
  16. Ok not completely, I still bleed yellow and black.20v,60v.....But I admit I love ❤️ these M12 tools......next is...soldering iron, right angle hex impact, polisher, 3ah batteries, Underwood light.....I hope a planer and router are coming like Bosch has....
  17. Like @Bremon said before . You can just use a plethora of 7 1/4” blades if you don’t need the depth, it’s what I do...also you’ll get more runtime do to the shorter diameter. ..I basically only rip 1/2” to 1” stock...I love this saw
  18. Ya to me it’s just weird they make the new “5ah bt “ label look like the the newish 6ah label non bt....except for the little blue symbol. You’d figure a completely new label would be in order emphasizing the tool connect ability...as in a easy to spot label differentiating it from all others..... ....but what do I know....thanks
  19. Gotta be happy with the Flexvolt line , the tools and power is awesome
  20. @Stercorarius..thanks , appreciate it,,we cut 5/8 to an 1 1/4” threaded rod and I think that cutter stops at 5/8” . ..I think....and the band saw will probably come in handy doing something else....I thought about a metal saw but I don’t know how clean the cut is .....
  21. Meant to say the small “xr “ is older...the Larger “ R” is tool connect ?
  22. Framer joe

    Mmm. Huh ?

So saw these batteries. I assume the non XR 5ah is the older Bluetooth and the XR 5ah is the new tool connect battery.? The XR 5ah looks bigger, is that for electronics ? I don’t think it’s larger cells .....
  23. Great video ,thanks...ya that’s all I need it for. Tough cutting rod with a sawzall or hacksaw or metal saw...
  24. Anybody got one ? Thinking about getting it for cutting threaded rod we use....Dewalt has one but the bottom is closed in on the m12....looks nice
