But wait, Milwaukee claims all you need is 18v . Another battery platform ? 12v, 18v,26v,72v ? ...Mx makes more sense then flexvolt? Flexvolt was “ game changing” still is unmatched in power and performance by anyone, ( except the sawzall) no m18 hd is not even close, no the new rear handle m18 is not anywhere near the 577... light equipment? It does not have the power Or runtime.for light equipment...gonna need generators, which are half the cost of this new battery platform. .... Always fun to watch Milwaukee with gen 1,2,3,4? Hey buy the 18v circ it’s as good as Dewalt, next year, hey get the new Hd circ saw with the new HO batteries, hey wait next year get the new circ saw.... at least Dewalt engineers tools Once, { flexvolt} that last years and still beat anything out there. ...M12 is great , though Dewalt 12v is more powerful and smaller.hope they keep the line going..

@Jronman...bro, your a funny guy, video evidence...I live in the real world of framing. There is video evidence of the 887 smoking on VCG videos, yet I’ve never seen it happen by anYone or any other channel in four years.or the ten I have.. ..is the makita rear handle circ good,yes, as good as flexvolt,no. Milwaukee fans would love to tell ya the “New gen whatever“ circ or rear handle matches flexvolt, but sorry it bogs down and shuts off... The ego power source is ten times the cost of the dcb1800, which is on sale many times for 199...c,mon..yes and you can buy a Honda 2000i real generator for the same price. Never said Dewalt is the best at everything, but for framing/ remodeling/ construction it is. Milwaukee rules for plumbing, hvac,mechanics and sawzalls. Makita has great all around tools, lots of them, but now has multiple platforms. Festool is great but it’s not on par with my Mafell stuff either. Every company has good products and bad. As I’ve always said, we run 3 vans , 1 full of each brand. Makita, dewalt,Milwaukee. I buy the tools for each owner and run their companies..I have a lot of experience with these tools everyday, not kinda, not part time, not in my garage, cranking out new homes every day, 15-20 guys per crew...I don’t own much festool, midi vac, cordless sander, rotex...it won’t hold up to framing abuse, but for finish work it’s probably the best along with grex pneumatic guns. Tool box buzz, workshop addict,Oz tools, Skill builder all do tests on this stuff and dewalt is always top 3...besides what 45 professional framers say everyday.

Why 40v if they have X2 18v (36v) ...I can only think they want to compete with flexvolt and larger voltage is needed with larger cells...

@Hugh Jass..dewalt rips off others? Your a nice guy but seriously. They lead the pack with sds max cordless..(2”) plus, mitre saws, table saws, circular saws, rear handle saws, even the dcd996 is a top 2 hd drill and it’s years old. ...heck the dcf887 still is a top 3 impact... Dewalt cordless compact jigsaws and sanders are top notch. The cordless router just won on “ tool box buzz channel”. Even Makita is going to a brand new 40v tool system to compete with flexvolt, because the X2 (36v) can’t, and Milwaukee isn’t close. What about the cordless compressor which is amazing and class leading, ? All the cordless guns are good, took Milwaukee a gen 2 to be as good...What about one of the best inventions ever, the dcb1800 power inverter..everyone copies it now...Flexvolt is still unmatched... I get frustrated with slow tool releases, but when dewalt does a tool it generally is the best for years....

The 12v 2 and 3 ah are the same size and weight... the 3 is worth the 49$

@Jronman..hell no all day..if my ego is using the 7.5 , I still won’t come close to all day..maybe an hour on high...the flex with a 12ah on high, maybe 30min continuous....does work great though...not much beats ego OPE...

Not much difference. The xr6.0 is good on bigger tools like the 996...I like the weight and size of the 5ah on drills and impacts..for large tools like the sds,vac, compressor, circ saw, I use flexvolt batteries 9ah or 12ah..

5hrs on high with the 9ah..charge at lunchtime and good the rest of the day...works great.

Nice find...wonder the power will be? ..don’t know about the battery placement,looks like it will be in your wrist area with a big battery...I liked the old 20v one, but just got the new 60v flexvolt blower kit at HD $149 end of summer sale..( blower,charger and 9ah battery) ...

@Przemek(Poland)...no oil on the nails..on the gun tips. It will draw some oil into the driver area which is good...these guns need some oil, don’t care what the book says...still building custom homes 30+ yrs and my deck company... I have used the new Milwaukee cordless framer and it is better then the dewalt 692..and like I said the hitachi works awesome, just heavy..plus most of my framing tools are 20v and 60v flexvolt...gotta use good nails ( paslode) but they’re expensive.

Typical rushed product.....nothing compares to wiha Terminator bits or Gedore bits...it's all I buy

@Biggie.. r u a plumber? I'd agree.. but for framing, the fuel hackzall doesn't have the power of the compact xr or 4 position blade as you say. ... For Most daily duty the compact works great. I easily have as many Milwaukee tools as I do DeWalt. And almost all M12 tools made. ....that 4 position is a game changer a lot. Vibrations I feel in any recip...I'd say the Makita AVT sawzall is low vibrations..I haven't used the super sawzall by Milwaukee yet...

Bought...don't like it..bad design. Wish it was like that small Makita. If it's not 100%flat it won't cut 1.5" stock...little big for a siding saw...

Dcn692...3 yrs old ? Have 3 used everyday..use paslode paper nails 3 1/2" x .131 hdg( hot dip galv)...2 boxes a week (4000 nails x 52 weeks ) well over 600000 nails shot...no rebuild. ...some guys don't like them I love them. I use them for framing and mostly building decks..pt lumber ..very few nails don't set...I wd40 the tips.. ....also use them with paslode 2 3/8" ring shank hdg..for 5/4 x6 pt decking..work great...the Hitachi does drive better but weighs 2lbs more...too heavy.

Works great..very handy at work,bending moldings and will be great this winter thawing locks on the trailer
