  2. I have kobalt, Husky, craftsmen that all get the job done, but don't have a real high quality feel. I have 1 snap-on 1/2" drive that I really like and bout used. I have a hard time justifying the cost of the snap-on new. I have herd good things about Proto, s&k, and tekton. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I think it makes sense to have dual chargers. It definitely encourages you to consider the other battery platform sense you look at the charger every day, taunting you with the vacant spot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. No I would never do that.... [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thank you for re-sharing this. It is very useful.
  6. I swear a new flap disk will take off more material then a grinding wheel, but will not last as long. Like you said you can get a good finish out of a flap disk especially if you are making a metal sculpture and just want some texture.
  7. I guess they are trying to get you to just buy a new tool rather then fix the one you have. Sadly our culture has gone that way were people would rather throw it out and replace then to fix. You see this across the board with a lot of things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It is a multi purpose tool it works as a ratchet, torque wrench, and also breaker bar for those tough bolts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I see that stuff constantly. I guess they think because they were suckered in they can do it to someone else. I understand paying a premium when the truck brings the tools to your box, but it has gotten excessive in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. This is what giving your business to the lowest bidder gets you. I wonder if this happens to higher end companies also? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Wow I couldn't imagine how much that would suck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I know what you mean about cl. I never would have thought HF tools would appreciate in value, but I see them for sale often for more then you can buy them at the store for. The best deals I have gotten on used tools have been from someone who is retiring and getting rid of stuff, or has had a career change and is no longer in the trade. Never count out the scorn lovers liquidation sale because she generally sells the stuff for what he said he paid for them not what they actually cost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I love dipping tools. Looks great. I prefer the cushioned grip. I know I am pre-madana, but I am ok with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. For me it depends on what I am looking at and what price they are asking. I wouldn't buy a used level, but most hand tools that are name brand definitely. I will also study the pictures they have of the tools. If the background is clean I am more likely to go look at them, but if there is crap everywhere and nothing looks like it has been taken care of I won't. If you are looking at anything electric then you need to do some homework on it. Does the tool have a good reputation and what are the common things to go wrong. Plus when you look at it make sure you smell the motor area. Run it some then smell. If it has been abused you will generally be able to tell. I have bought some high end tools used and had no problems, especially on the cheating husband special. Used tools can be a good buy, you just have to be careful and look them over. Keep in mind craftsmen tools you can take back without a receipt no problem, but I have been hassled trying to exchange kobalt tools without a receipt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Milwaukee the only company this has combined charging of 18 and 12 v tools on the same charging base. That is important to me because most job sites I am on power is limited and it is nice charging 2 batteries at the same time and it takes up less space. If you work in a shop all the time this may not matter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Nice video Jimbo. I'm digging that Milwaukee coat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I viewed it as getting into a trade, buy cheap because you generally need to buy a lot of tools. As you progress start changing the cheap tools out for good ones. It will also keep you from spending big bucks on a tool you might not use very often. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I agree completely. Ridgid has put an 18v battery on almost everything. If lows wants to compete then they need to get tool out and quickly. Plus they need to generate some buzz and they are not. My 24v tools are sweet and I think they can definitely compete if lows let them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Much respect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I paid with my lows card because I got extra money off. It was a sale they had going on at the time. I have the receipt plus it is on my, my lows card. I like them and for what I paid I will take my chances. I am thinking about also investing in another battery line for more variety. At work they provided me a m18 drill and driver plus they have some boch drills both are nice, but older. Early li-on stuff. There is 1 m18 fuel set that is sweet, but those are pricey. I have a m12 ratchet that I love, but not sure I want to go full blown Milwaukee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I see guys do that everyday. I have everything from harbor freight tools to snap-on and everything in between. I treat my hf tools with the same respect as my snap-on. Most tools if you treat them right they will last. I have to much money invested not to, plus I can't afford to constantly replace the ones I have. That would keep me from buying things I don't. 22. That always makes you feel good. I like it when that happens. It lets me know I definitely have a good tool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I was just examining the proto blackoxide ratchets. Glad to here you like them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Awesome. Will kctool be the only one carrying them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
