  1. Well, well, well...DeWalt just shipped a new Jobsite Table saw and I was wondering what you all think of it? I am providing a link to an article that talks about it, but was curious to hear if this was the feature set and size customers were looking for.  Seems like 8-1/4" is becoming more popular, but is it really preferred over the 10" blade?

Couple things stand out to me on this new model...I like the steel miter gauge, seems like many of the competitors are shipping these sized models with cheap plastic ones, so that seems like an upgrade.  The table seems a bit unusual in that they have four extensions in each corner but the top of them are tapered, rather than tapering the bottom so the top would remain level.  As it is a table saw more area of usable table would seem like the best plan, the decision to taper the top of them just seems unusual to me what say you all. From the picture it appears the vacuum attachment is on the blade guard, I wonder if there is a second one underneath?  It has what looks to be a new style On/Off switch as well.

  2. Have used Hilti DX450 attaching battens to concrete befor however we have loads of galvanised joist hangers to attach to a rendered brick wall. We are concerned about fracturing the bricks and also the soft hold of mortar joints.
For the first batch we drilled, plugged and screwed. hard work and slow!
What is being attached to battens

  3. Wait a sec, your trying to tell me the Makita blade is better than the Hilti?

Don't go gettin all crazy. It's 1/2 the thickness of Hilti. Which allows the the cordless saws to get more cuts. Example. Hilti sw60 36v gets a comfortable 190-200 cross cuts with non pressure treated lumber. Add the Maki blade and you'll be add another 35-60 cuts with same battery. Is better hmm Yes better forming on batteries. Less charger and or swap out time. I would say the Hilti blades will last longer but I don't really care.

  4. Did you try dewalt repair store.

Same. DeWalt's site doesn't list any vendors, acme doesn't list it, nor do Zoro or a handful of others and I've been searching forums for info on what the issue is, people complaining about it, anything lol but it seems I'm the only one on the hunt/dissatisfied at the moment. Had the box a month, but started planning the order months ago, and the lid compartments have been in the same state of non-existence for as long as I've been looking.

  6. Quality is excellent..... And warranty is best in class. I almost all Hilti. Almost bought it but just just dam big for my side of the world.

Saw this at WOC, but it was hard to tell the quality.  It's so loud there with all the tools and music, plus I am pretty much deaf.

  7. Let me reword that... it's the metal washer that centers the blade.

See if you can locate parts diagram and order. If you have both saws take em out and see if they fit. One of my Maki track saws can run 7 1/4" blade. Took a lil grinding inside face plate. Took like 3 min. MAKI track saws can run a silly stock size 20mm Bore or 5/8 with a 1.00 part and then can streamline blades to 6.5" or 7 1/4. Huge savings... huge.

  8. How does this compare to the flexvolt DCS577?

I have dce577.... It's like night and day. I never want to pick up the dewalt again. You dont know what balance is until you pick up the Hilti. Seriously it's in class all it's own.

You can make any cut from angle even upside down with no effort.

  9. I have 2 Maki track saws. Swamped out arbor with the one from there 6.5" Lefty cordless. And fit regular 6.5" blades. No more ordering. Now have 6.5" , 7 1/4" blades only. No odd size's. No mail order....cut out a hassle out of my life and save a chunk of change in the process.

Btw way I built set of built ins for a repeat customer. Quickie nothing high end. Just paint grade. Me my guys just finished up a roof deck and breaking down clean punch list etc. I said sure. Grabbed few sheets of 3/4" BC ply, few pcs if poplar for faceframes and pocket screw kit. Swapped out blade for new 24t Diablo and slapped in the guide plate. I could of used the corded Maki but wanted to try the cordless Hilti. Really nice to have that ability. Worked like a charm.

  10. yes I have the DeWALT Flexvolt cordless track saw and Festool TSC55 cordless track saw. They both use the 6-1/2" blade with the track saw arbor.

  11. I know it was supposed to be funny kinda like how we joke that adding a Milwaukee red paint job to tools improves their performance.
Yes funny. When I first read it I was about to tell you go fly a kite. LoL
