  1. I think I would prefer a radio with an area light rather than a flash light in 36v please, and while I'm dreaming, have it charge all the batteries.
  2. That would be nice, a detail sander like Festools DX 93 E would be nice to have cordless as well, especially if it was 18/20v, even though it does cross over towards multi-tool territory.
  3. We can get a better stapler here I would much rather have an 18v tool than a 3.6v tool
  4. You know you can order tools from Canada....
  5. That would be so cool to have if we could equip it as a kind of rolling toolbox, with a couple saddle bags and a decent top box, I could see myself cruising around some jobsites doing punch list type work. Then again, I could see that being an auxiliary vehicle to a larger work truck set up. I wish more mini trucks where accepted in our country, I would love to have one for aound town and larger jobsites, espeically the 4 wheel drive models, with AC off course, something lacking in most utility ATV that I would really apreciate working here in Florida with all our heat and humidity. There are a lot of compact tractors we don't get here either.
  6. I wish we could have a little more space to post pictures, I find this a bit annoying myself at times.
  7. I have always found the electronics that we don't get in this country fascinating.
  8. Yes, there is a bunch of tools I would love to have, a lot of them I just can't understande why they are not here.
  9. They do offer it with a case , I might hazard a guess that some retailers may stock a version without the case to make it look like they have the cheapest price or to make a little extra profit.
  10. Yes, the new roto hammer I posted is brushless.
  11. Bosch has been releasing new accessories fairly regularly, some of them have been pretty good, like their Daredevil circular saw blades and their SDS bits with the solid carbide tips. They also have a line of production tools that has had a bunch of new tools released fairly recently.
  12. The dykes I have have not loosened up, the fence pliers have started to get broken in. Believe me, I have tried all kinds of cleaners and lubricants.
  13. I'm hoping that they bring in some of there Euro tools, I would love to see their tracksaws here. I'm looking foward to seeing more of the L-Boxx line here as well. Maybe Sortimo will get there act together and start retailing here to go along with Bosch selling their products.
  14. Klein is only slightly better on some tools, Channellock equals Klein with most of their newer tools, like their high leverage linemans pliers. The finish on the Kleins appears to have a finer brushed finish on a lot of there other tools. I have had a few Channellocks that have had stiff joints, my latest dykes and fencing tool in particular, whereas with Kleins the action is always super easy. Channellock has Klein beat in the water pump pliers department, The only competition they have there is Knippex. Knippex are better for finer work but are at a disadvantage when it gets down to working in the muck and mud, even packed with grunge the Channellocks can be still be adjusted easily while some of the fancier Knippexs can jamb up. I will ad that both Knippex and Klein have far fewer pliers that can end up pinching your fingers.

    Books

Handyman in Your Pocket is a small pocket size book that contains a wealth of information. From different types of anchors, rafter span tables, current capacities of wire, mixing ratios for concrete, drill sizes for taps, hose carrying capacity tables for both air and water to welding rod types. It is definitely one of the books I would want to have with me in a post apocalypse world, and a very handy book to have around for every day reference. Pocket Ref is another book by one of the same authors which has a different data set, that goes into more electrical, computer, and chemical type information to those who are inclined that way. Both are great books.
  16. Looks like Bosch has a few new tools coming out, at least in Germany.... A cordless roto hammer. The Bosch GBH 18 V-EC With their new 4 Ah batteries. An L-Boxx based LED worklight, the GLI PortaLED And a new 10.8v Radio, the GML 10,8 V-LI Professional

I could see having a bunch of them for holding sub assemblies of a larger project at the ready, could be real handy at the welding bench.
  18. What gadgets and gizmos do you have that makes your life easier? I'm thinking about those little items that cost around $20 (£ 12) that seem to be worth more because of how much easier they let you do something or those things that are just fun to use. I'll start with one I really like. Spring Tools Nailsets. I use mine all the time on a lot of different jobs. One of their line I find particularly useful is their 48R05-1 pin punch, used to drive hinge pins from hinges when you don't want to take the chance of nicking or scratching a door or door frame with a hammer.

It is a holder for locking pliers that turns the locking pliers into a pseudo-vise. from http://kk.org/cooltools/archives/6384 Where you will also find a little more info.

    Adhesives

There are many kinds of glue. It is wise to know which one works best where, CA, PVA, RTV, casein, contact cement, hide, nitrocellulose, resorcinol, etc. There are the many different kinds of epoxy as well. Caulk is an adhesive, so is gasket cement. There are various additives that are added to mortar to alter its cohesive and adhesion properties. PL construction adhesive blows Liquid Nails out of the water when it comes to construction adhesives. 3M has more than one kind of spray adhesive, from spray tack all the way to their 90 super adhesive. You don't know what your missing if you've never used gorilla snot, 3Ms weatherstrip adhesive. Then there are specialty products like Slime that you could put in your tires to stave off flats. There are many different formulations of adhesives available on tape as well, just compare gaffers tape to duct tape, and then there is wallpaper adhesives and even adhesives holding your envelopes closed. There are the anaerobic adhesives like Loctite. And for an added bonus if you know about your glues you will know what their solvents are so you can clean up any messes that happen and sometimes even disassemble things that have been glued.

    Adhesives

Not really an article but a website. Probably more than you want to know about adhesives, glues, and sealants. http://www.adhesiveandglue.com/

Thanks, that is good to know, I may find myself investing in some in the not to distant future.
  24. The fine print on some warranties is really a killer. If Hilti is so expensive there it might be worth paying the shipping from elsewhere. I can't believe they are so hardline on having you all sign up to there fleet program. I would think they lose a lot of business by doing so.
