  1. I can't help but think of Wayne not being able to find anything other than Chinese roto hammers, you think him being so much closer he would have much better access than we do here. Free trade Hmmmm...
  2. It's never to late to try one out . http://www.genuineginsu.com/ Your probably better off with a Cutco though.
  3. Pits are a lot more popular here in Florida, hills being fairly rare. Couple of things about Florida, for one, most of the trucks don't need any kind of lift to work under easily, and secondly, I'm always amazed at how many lifts I see in peoples garages and driveways.
  4. If the past has taught us anything, it has taught us that we're terrible at predicting the future.
  5. Cool, how did you come across it? Isn't that a weird 9/32-drive?
  6. I have a feeling that we haven't heard the end of this...
  7. Which can you get from a better tool dealer? After the sale support is something I always consider when choosing a tool, unless it is it is a tool I have a back up for or can really do without if I have to.
  8. I could see it, with proper engineering, the thing is I could picture the resulting more durable components costing a bit more....
  9. I don't think Hilti has totally sold out to China yet, but I know how you feel about them. There may be a small amount of hope that Bosch has one not produced there as well. The Bosch that I have the 11255VSR was made in Germany. If it was me and I had to pass on Hilti, and was looking for a shorter tool than my Bosch, I would pick up the Milwaukee 5359-21 which is manufactured in Germany as well. This is probably not much help to you though as we don't often have the same tools available to us in our own countries.
  10. If your ever in Haines Alaska and want kill some time perusing some hammers, they have a museum. http://www.hammermuseum.org/ Looks like it might be an interesting way to spend an afternoon.
  11. Would it help to ask which one wasn't made in China? It would appear they are two differing styles, vertical or horizontal motor. Will the length of the tool matter to you? It looks like the Metabo is a bit longer. They look like they spec out pretty close. If I had to choose, I would have to lean towards the Makita as I would have a hard time finding a place to service the Metabo if I ever needed anything like warranty repairs, but they don't actually offer that model here in the states. Which one would be easier for you to get serviced? Those are the questions I would be asking myself If I had to choose between those two.
  12. One of the things I remember from my younger days was the stores were always competing on who provided the best service. They were always going out of their way to do little extra things to get you to shop at their place, like actually helping you find the items your looking for rather than just telling you it is over on aisle 11, they actually had people that were most often knowledgeable about the products they sold rather than somebody making minimum wage looking to do as little work as possible. Not like today where the most common way the stores try to compete is who has the lowest prices. I guess it is just another step down in our race to the bottom.
  13. Most of the oil less nailer manufacturers claim that they last just as long, I wish their was someone to test this out to find out if it is true.
  14. Did you mean Irwin? Irwin tools is a subsidiary of Newel Rubbermaid, C.H. Hanson is a family owned company.
  15. Supposedly, their insulated tools, I believe they call them VDEs over there, are really popular among their sparkies.
  16. Apparently, NWS have a lot of fans over in the EU. I'm really surprised we don't have more tools like these available easily here in the states.
  17. Wonder what we'll be looking at in another 20 years.
  18. Hills are meant for loading ATVs in pick up trucks, you cant' use them for that.
  19. A lot of Image hosts have an extension of .html or .com I don't think the IP board forum likes that.
  20. This shovels just as good, it cuts potatoes and steel pipe and can dig holes, lets se that puny knife do that.
  21. DIY car lift. Looks like fun.
  22. Looks like Facom re-brands their auto locking pliers from C.H. Hanson as well. I wonder if the T5s are re-branded as well, and if they are, who is it that manufactures them.
  23. Figures, the minute I post the next page in my search turns up just the locking pliers. The Facom T5.L from http://www.oll-tools.com/
  24. I find the locking pliers in this set particularly interesting. From Amazon.com
