  1. This week I take delivery of a Stanley 18v ( 20v in the U.S.A) drill and will be finding out if the batteries are the same as the Dewalt.
  2. I think as with a lot of the new technology, that it's great to have somewhere like the Forum to get the truth about products before you put down your hard earned on them.
  3. Apparently soon you will just rest the battery or the tool complete with battery on some kind of plate and it will charge
  4. Bosch have come out fighting with 5ah batteries soon to be released and charging without contacts soon they seem to be on the attack and out to prove a point.
  5. I'm also in the U.K. Have you seen the prices being asked for the backpack model? Much more and it would be worth flying to the U.S.A and walking in there and buying one yourself then flying back. A bit more expensive than in the U.S is o.k but treble and more what the guys pay over there is just not gunna happen. Veto need to have outlets that are answerable to them over here.
  6. It gets my vote for best in class by some margin.
  7. Must admit Bosch has done as I predicted months ago. The sleeping blue Giant has woken up and gone for it big time. But Metabo seem to just up the game every time they have a 36v with quick change chuck and 4ah batteries already
  8. I am going to try the nailer in a 400 just to see if the lid will close LOL
  9. I only have two gripes about the tough system boxes and I own eleven of them so I speak from experience. The side clips are crap and the new battery only first fix nailer won't fit in any of them. Apart from that they are brilliant. Tough ( apart from the crappy yellow plastic side catches) But still better than anything else out there.
  10. Hi guys I have lost the booklet for my 12v Dewalt laser thermometer. Has anyone got a copy I can download to get the settings please?
  11. If you drill over head and 10mm or less into masonry or concrete this is the best drill on the planet for you.
  12. Just bought the M12 wall sub scanner
  13. I had a bit of a bad do with Hilti Pal so have avoided them since. But must admit the couple I have are very good. Metabo have now replaced my faulty item and it is incredibly powerful. I did go over the top and it would have killed any drill out there to be fair.
  14. Veto needs to have outlets owned bt them over here in the U.K they would just clean up if the prices were comparable to those in the U.S.A
  15. I was tought how to make copper pipework look beautiful. Pex is horrible looking no matter how you put it in compared to copper
  16. I think the engineers at Festool and Metabo drink in the same pub, because the new Metabo drills seem to have the same features. Even the 12 v has a right angle chuck now.
  17. I am looking at the 36v 4ah Metabo drill because of the Battery capacity as much as anything. Going of the 18v line it should be a great drill because I think they have learned from the 24v model.
  18. All I know is mine works brilliantly and have had not a single problem. Just fill the nails up and keep going. And also if you have access to your charger 2 batteries will last you all day because one always lasts longer than it takes to re-charge the other using 4ah batteries.
  19. 1/2" and use adaptors to go down works for me. Easier to have more power and use it gently than not have enough grunt on a job.
  20. It is an incredible drill. The weight the balance as well as the performance. And those cool pack batteries make a formidable package. I don't see why you need anything else. Yes it's 4 pole motor is not brushless, but it has more bottom end grunt where us trades need it.
  21. It is just so well constructed. I have killed every tool bag I have ever owned in a month or two, this thing is like brand spanking new after the same amount of time, and showing no sign of wear whatsoever and that's in England folks where it is not exactly known for nice weather lets be honest.
  22. I think it is a different model number in the U.S.A and Canada But the one with the metal chuck is the robust series not the plastic chucked model.
  23. I bought a Veto Propac and said damn the postal cost. Fantastic product, recommend this brand to all trades because the build quality and thought that has gone into them is brilliant.
