  1. Not sure if this is the correct forum but I'll post anyway and see what happens. I have owned a Flymo Easy Glide 330 mower for a little while now but have recently noticed that a lot of the cut grass seems to be blown around the outside of the mower onto the lawn and not collected within the internal basket. Anyone have an idea what this may be please?
  2. If anyone has on of these going spare to suit a B & D KA250K Sandstorm sander please let me know. Thanks peeps.
  3. I own a Bosch ART30 GSD (not combi-trim) corded strimmer which I have had for some time. It works absolutely fine with the exception that recently the spool line keeps coming of the spool during use. Initially I discovered that the 'slider' was broken so replaced this but it didn't help. Since then I have also replaced the spool cassette and head cap but still non of this as rectified the problem. What I cannot understand is that the 'slider' (picture attached) just slots into a recess at the base of the fitting but it doesn't seem to do anything. On closer inspection I think there must be a part missing as I think the 'slider' must be held in position and push against the spool cassette to prevent the line from coming off? Maybe by a spring or something very similar? I may be mistaken, but I thought I'd post on here to see if anyone would know anything about these strimmers? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Think I've discovered the problem? It's appears that the built integral ABS type braking system that's faulty? When attaching the accessories to the donor sander I purchased, the integral centre section (which I assume is the ABS braking system?) doesn't move when inserting, tightening and releasing the allen screw. Not the case with my sander. They look absolutely identical when comparing the two but obviously there is some unseen problem therein. I will replace the armature from my sander with the one from the donor sander and hopefully this will sort the problem. Just thought I'd post my findings in case someone else is experiencing a similar issue.
  5. Here is another unforeseen problem. I have just attached the circular sander attachment to the sander but this doesn't turn, even though the centre section is spinning. In fact, I can hold the sanding attachment whist its running. I now suspect that the central integral section (I have no idea what to call this) shown in the image should actually be tight and not loose? I've just been looking online and it's mentioned that these are fitted with an ABS type braking system and I was just wondering if this may be where the fault lies? I have no idea how this is supposed to work but I suppose this would account for the reason why the centre part is now loose and separate from the armature assembly Anyone have any comments regarding this.
  6. Yes Eric. Its strange. I simply cannot find any way of tightening, or loosening the allen screw whilst preventing the whole thing turning. I have just downloaded the manual, but nothing about this in there. There as to be a way surely?
  7. I own a B & D KA250K Sandstorm sander. The problem I'm having is that the allen bolt which holds the base just keeps turning when I wish to tighten or remove it. I initially thought there was an issue with the thread, but no. It seems to be the centre section of the fan assembly that just keeps turning, as per the details shown in the image. I have purchased a second hand KA250K as a donor for parts, but this displays exactly the same problem. Does anyone know if there is a way of locking the armature, as per some drills etc., or knows how to stop the unit from turning?
  8. I don't know if I have the correct forum but here goes anyway I have a Bosch ART30 GSD strimmer which as given me good service until recently where the spool line continues to unwrap itself from the spool cartridge. Initially I found the slider had broken (part number 20/51), so replaced this, but it didn't cure the problem. I have since replaced the spool line cartridge (part number 820/20 and 20/53 x 2) and the end cap (part number 20/49), but the problem remains. As soon as I operate it the entire cartridge empties the line. I can confirm the line is wound onto the spool correctly in the direction of the arrows but, just as a matter of course, I have tried winding the line on the opposite way, and that makes no difference whatsoever. I have been looking at this in a little more detail and was wondering if there should be a spring, or similar attached to the slider to hold it in place during operation? Nothing is shown on the diagram but it would make sense to me. The little prong shown on the image doesn't seem to do anything so perhaps a spring pushes against this but I'm only guessing! As anyone else had a similar problem with one of these and know the answer? There must be a reason for this?
  9. Just an addendum folks. I've been in touch with the manufacturer of the jigsaw and, although they don't supply spare parts direct to the public, they put me in touch with the blade manufacturer who kindly sent a blade to try and I can confirm this works absolutely fine. This confirms the blade is the issue but of course raises another question? If I cannot buy these blades direct, what blades can I replace these with in the future? Any recommendations?
  10. Before chucking this useless piece of crap in the bin I just thought I'd have one more go at it. I hate not knowing what a problem is and whether it can, or cannot be resolved. On closer inspection the blade support roller seemed very loose so I thought this was possibly the issue? I removed it and replaced the rivet with a nut and bolt and tightened it so the bearing has very little lateral movement. This certainly improved the cut but didn't cure it. I then decided to try the blade, although a little blunt, that was supplied with the saw. This worked perfectly. A nice straight cut without any bend or deviation. I then tried the blades that I recently purchased off EBay together with a Bosch and Dewalt blade that I had in my toolbox, but the problem reoccurred. Looking closely at the blades it looks like the 'T' shanks are slightly different so perhaps they are moving slightly in the blade holder when under pressure thus resulting in the deviation when cutting? It is just my opinion of course! Anyone perhaps recommend other blades that may be suitable?
  11. Just to say I have had another go with this today and I cannot get the thing to cut a straight line. Got my old Black & Decker jigsaw back from my Son and that cuts without any problem. I'm just at a loss? Think I'll take it down the tip when I go this week. Here is a link for this piece of crap. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4518392
  12. Hi wingess It remains straight. No lateral, or rotating movement. One of my first thoughts!
  13. A few months ago I purchased a Guild PSJ710W jigsaw and yesterday I finally had occasion to use it. Unfortunately I cannot get it to cut a straight line. I have tried various blades, made sure the blade is sitting in the bottom bearing guide but no chance. I let the saw do the work and only apply firm, light pressure but the cut continues to vear to the right. Its not the most expensive, and possibly not the best, but I would expect it to do the job? Has anyone had similar problems and maybe know a solution.
