Output isn't constant. The max speed is just a lot faster than it should be.

I have a brushless (just gave it to my boss, so don't remember the model) 18V drill that has suddenly started running way too fast. A coworker almost burned it out driving a few screws, it got way too hot doing almost nothing. I tried searching for the problem online, but found nothing. It's WAY too fast and very noisy! Anyone else had this problem? Anyone know what's happend? -Hal-
