Actually underneath it is too hot to keep your fingers on

I am new to dewalt so advice would be helpful. I just bought a dewalt drill kit with a dcb115 charger and 4ah batteries. When i charge a battery the charger gets very hot to touch. I can pick it up like a hot cup of coffee. It does not burn but is this normal?
