    Remove bottom plate & then hex screw on pivot pin case. Put grease (light grease best) in hex screw hole & replace hex screw. Plunge saw repeatedly to work grease in. Repeat if necessary. See https://www.fixya.com/support/t11121108-makita_plunge_saw_very_stiff_not_return#sln_38126486
