[Metabo LTX 400 BL gearbox issue]

Figured it out. They came from the grooved spindle. You need to compress the spring fully then insert the ball bearings.

Hi,

 

My impact driver was struggling to turn. It's out of warranty so decided to open up and see what the issue was. 

 

Motor and spindle seems fine. I opened up the gearbox and found 2 x 5mm ball bearings split in half at the bottom of the assembly. I can't see where these should be located.

 

Anyone any experience repairing these gearboxes. The part number is 316053720.
