Makita 5ah battery (BL1850) won't fit in my circular saw (BSS611)

I have a similar problem. I want to use a new blower with an older drill battery, they dont go together. Bummer. So now I have to buy a new battery to do the same job as my other batteries. Thanks makita for not mentioning that anywhere on the box!!!
