  1. Eric did an excellent review on the L-Boxx see link - http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/2013/01/bosch-l-boxx-review/ As far as water L-Boxx is said to be Water Resistant, I guess that means they tell water to F**k Off., but have no water seals.
  2. So you evidently never carry a Hilti PR 26 Rotary Laser. Its always good to put then in a soft bag and toss them around. LOL.
  3. I suppose - Now some men like a fishin', but some men like the fowlin' Some men like to hear, to hear the cannonball a-roarin' But me, I like sleepin', `specially in my Molly's chamber But here I am in prison, here I am with a ball and chain(ed Tools), yeah Musha rain dum-a-doo dum-a-da, ha, ya. Hey it's the weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3RF4xaqTII
  4. I attach mine to a long rusty chain and drag them around the job site ! No really, I use the Dewalt Tough Box System. The boxes I like, the Cart is over priced and the wheels a little small. It's rough schlepping it around in the muck of an actual job site. I use the Dewalt TSTAK System sometimes for indoor work.
  5. Chase, I have read your posts and watched your videos, all excellent. What I was getting at that on commercial jobs, tools are damn important, as in, if I do not complete work on time I get back charged. On the job site we beat the hell out of tools to get the work done. And yes all of them fail at some point, so what I am saying is that tools are a means to an end, not an end in and of themselves. I don't have a passion for tools, I need good tools to make a living, plain and simple. Lordy bee, let me shut up now !
  6. Having read many topics and posts here it appears most here are residential guys, and many are very young. I find that well, as the trades regardless of classification need intelligent, insightful, skilled and dedicated professionals. The one thing I do get a sense of though, is that some are tool collectors, rather than tool users. The trades are not for the light hearted, it is tough both physically and financially. I hope this stirs up ire and posts, because I would like to here where you guys are at, in terms of career, entrepreneurial endeavor, business ownership, etc.
  7. You boys are way off ! Look to the left in pic - fire's color is Orange - Stihl MS 461 R Rescue Saw. That M ' Fing thing means business !!
  8. Well, been beating the hell out this thing for days now, working it at least 6 hours a day, two to three guys drilling and chipping constantly. The damn thing never quits !!! We have chewed through thousands $$$ in SDS bits as the structure we are drilling is loaded with rebar. Wayne was spot on on this line of tools. I wish I could post pictures, but it is not allowed on Base. Will do a thorough review as soon as I get a chance.
  9. Yes, the cordless Hilti TE 30 A36 is just wicked nice.
  10. It's a DOD Military Base Renovation Job. Lots of drilling 1" and larger and chipping. The specs on the project are ridiculous.
  11. I bought the Metabo, had it onsite today. It was funny the Hilti Rep was onsite today as well. He saw the Metabo and immediately came over to where I was working. Eyeing it rather suspiciously, (He knew what is was) he asked me a bunch of questions about it, then wandered off. I will put up a review after I have had a chance to use it more. Oh, and most of the other guys onsite, were WTF is that green thing, LOL.
  12. Much appreciated Powerator, Thank You.
  13. Yes, thank you, I thought there was a guy on here who uses Metabo, I hope Wayne chimes in !
  14. My Dewalt 1 9/16" SDS Max has gone to tool heaven, or maybe hell ! So if anybody has any feedback, particularly on the Metabo as I would like to give that tool line a try. The Bosch I am familiar with and have used, it is a damn fine tool.
  15. I like the Irwin Marathon WeldTec, and the Bosch Daredevil blades.
  16. The website above references a Polyether foam, that is a softer, open cell foam. It will absorb water, grease, oil etc. And is not very impact resistant meaning dropping a tool on it repeatedly will destroy it. You want a closed cell foam like polyethylene, it is much more durable and is very well suited to take the repeated impact of dropping a tool in it. My experience with pick and pluck has been miserable as the shape never truly "shadows" the tool. There is a product called Kaizen Foam, that is a closed cell, polyethylene that you can cut to shape and it peels off in 1/8" layers It comes in overall varying depths and is cheap, and is warranted for life. Do a search for it.
  17. It is polyethylene (Black PE Foam) It is considered a rather dense and long lasting foam. Additionally it can be diced - picked/plucked.
