  1. the feature is just easy to use, but it is not as good as the advertisement said, i bought one, the drill efficiency is not good enough
  2. i am not sure what kind of job you will do in your weekend, but i could make a suggestion that you could try hand hold band saw, the advantage of it comparing with reciprocate saw is that band saw could cut much faster than recip saw for the blade of the band is running in one direction, but the recip saw is running in two direction, one of the two is no cut function, the shortcoming is the dimension of material cutted has been limited
  3. yes, i am sure u have check things about outlet and socket, and i am not sure what kind of matter happened in your bench grinder, but i can give u a suggestion that you could use your ohmmeter to measure the resistance between the positive pole and the negative pole with the switch keeping on, if the resistance is very small, the tool would be ok, if the resistance is very big, which means ur tool would be broken down, then u could measure the resistance between different location of the circuit to find which parts are failure
  4. if you have a lot of work to do, professional tools are perfered. but if you only need a tool in house, ryobi is enough in my eyes, miwaukee is much better in dc tools, but for ac tools, dewalt is better in terms of where u can buy tools u need, sears or homedepot or web stores, i dont think it is a problem
  5. it is very dangous, maybe the insulation of the drill have been damaged, normally, such drill should have double insulation, the trigger of switch and the handle's material is plastics, it is not conductor, so the face tester can not light
