  1. I am looking for a new nail bag and have been looking at these.......... http://www.occidenta...?sku=5089&type= Anybody have one or know about them? Thanks for the help!
  2. This is kind of worry-some........... http://www.amazon.co...#R2RGNCWY898JKM Plus I was talking to a local tool guy in my area that sells many different brands of tools and he was not to happy with their customer service either. He said that he has tried contacting them quite a few times about becoming a dealer and selling their tools. He said that they " pretty much gave him the middle finger and told him to piss off" I am finding a lot of other bad experiences when dealing with them at least on the US side. I called the two closest dealers today and both told me that they will no longer be selling their tools do to a total lack of service after the sale.
  3. Not sure why they are doing this but it's really frustrating................so the search continues.....................
  4. Does anyone know if any Metabo 18v charger will charge any of18v batteries. The one kit I was looking only come with 2 of the 2.2ah batteries. Could I just buy extra 3ah or 4ah batteries and use the same charger? Edit......I found the answer and it's no. http://metabo.p2ionline.com/Flip/sitebase/index.aspx?adgroupid=135531&view=single&pageno=47&webstoryid=15605205&webstoryid2=15605205&FH=635
  5. I will agree that no one company makes the best tool in every category. I will also agree the Milwaukee makes the best sawzall out there. I have both Milwaukee and Dewalt sawzalls and no doubt the Milwaukee is better. I do also love my Bosch corded jig saw but when it comes to cordless I have to go Dewalt. I have never tried a Milwaukee circular other than the four cordless ones I have owned. As far a circular saws go I have great luck with Skil. I have a couple 7 1/4 worm drives for the heavy work and then for sheathing and small things I love there 5 1/2 trim saws. As far a SDS hammer drills go I like my Hilti over my Bosch but just my preference. The Hilti cordless tools are just starting to show up in my area and I have also been looking into them.
  6. Hey now..............I have had nothing but great luck with the yellow tools I have bought.............but always looking for the next best thing. The last Lithium Ion stuff I had that was Red was absolute DOG SH**!
  7. First off out of the box it feels really comfortable in the hand. The lightweight, durable magnesium housing makes the nailer feel well balances and much liter than most of the other framing nailers I have owned or used. As far as weight and balance it’s definitely a nailer that you can stand to frame all day with. Pros Weight Balance Selectable Trigger (bump fire and sequential fire} Depth Adjustment (tool free) Rafter Hook (also a con) Dry Fire Lock Out 360 Degree Swivel Hose Attachment 3 Year Warranty (YOU WILL NEED IT!) Cons POOR QUALITY! (will go in to detail) Jams a lot Breaks a lot No Clean Out (for jams) Nails (don’t use Grip Rite nails) Nails fall out of the Gun Rubber Grip (seems cheap) Leaks Silver Finish (wears off very easy) Rafter Hook (huge and bulky but narrow) Conclusion Lets start by saying I have four of these nailers and they all have the same problems. I don’t thing the Pros out weigh the Cons. The sad thing is I really like a lot about the guns but the build quality is just not there. If Grip Rite could the problems I would love the gun. They have been out to meet me a talk over the issues I am having and said that they are going to try to correct the issues on the new guns. The first thing I would do if you do purchase one is take out the top three screws that hold the air discharge down and put some blue loc tite on them because the always work their way loose and fall out. I have lost quite a few. Also I would do the same to the four bigger screws that hold the top part of the gun on because they come loose and the guns start leaking out of the black gasket between the body and the top. Next I wouldn’t shoot the Grip Rite nails through the gun. I have had so many jams especially with the 2 3/8” nails. The nails come in little plastic tubs of 1,000 nails and I was getting at least 2 jams per tub. When the gun jams there is no nail Clean-Out so the only way to get the jammed nail out is to drive the nail driver back and pry the nail out. When doing this use the widest and softest punch you can find because the rammers are very brittle and break easy. I have broken 6 by either the nails themselves jamming or trying to un-jam the gun. I have virtually eliminated this problem by switching to Senco nails. You can tell by just looking at the nails that the Senco’s are way better quality. I also like that the clips on the Senco nails are quite a bit longer with more nails per clip. They seem to cut the reloads in half. The other things I don’t like are the Rafter Hook on the gun is way to big and bulky and always seems to be in the way. It does rotate down under the handle but I am not a fan. It also needs to be a little wider for my liking. Its tough for me to get it hooked and unhooked on truss. The one good thing it being so narrow is that is does hold nice with little sliding if you have to hang the gun on the sloped top cord on the trusses. The silver finish on the gun wears off really easy after one job my guns looked like they were a couple years old. This is not a huge deal t me because I buy my tools to use and don’t really care what they look like but I thought it was worth mentioning. I have good luck with getting them serviced under the warranty but it’s a pain not having tools that work. That is one reason I have four guns though at least one of them is always in the shop. I originally bough two guns because the local lumber yard I by from had switched to carrying Grip Rite products. After all my troubles with the first two guns the owner of the yard gave me another so that I always had to guns to use while one was in for repair. Then I acquired another one because some of the Grip Rite reps came out to talk to me about the issues that I had be having with their guns and while they were there we had two guns jam and one break and the gave me a demo gun they had with them. So they seem at the least willing to listen to customers and take notes. I probably wouldn’t buy again unless they redesign a few things. I am more than happy to answer any and all questions so fire away. Sorry it got a little long winded.
  8. Thanks for the heads up I noticed that as well???
  9. How about the price on this kit? http://www.toolstop.co.uk/metabo-ltx-7-piece-cordless-li-ion-kit-3-x-3ah-batteries-p16412 I not really sure what I should expect to pay?
  10. How does this kit look?? http://www.amazon.com/Metabo-COMBO-4-2-LiPower-Cordless/dp/B005G13R5I/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1349631093&sr=1-4&keywords=metabo+tools
  11. I am looking to buy a Metabo cordless combo kit and want to know the best place in the US to purchase. I have seen them on Amazon....any other places??
  12. I agree with the majorty of what has been said. I don't think i would ever buy a oil less framing nailer but I have 2 oil less Senco finish nailer (will check the model number). I have used these for many years and they are still trimming out houses. I have gone though quite a few other oiled and oiless nailers in between but the 2 Senco's kicking.

    Dewalt DCD780C2

Former Milwaukee fan converted to Dewalt until someone can show me a Red tool that can do what may dewalt can. Many other contractors I work with have tried to get me to switch back but they have yet to bring a tool to the table that can even beat my old 18v nicad Dewalt stuff. So Dewalt all the way fro now anyway!
  14. I use to be a Huge Milwaukee fan! IMO Milwaukee has made nothing but sh** for quite a few years. I loved all there old 18v cordless tools and still have a couple that I still use. The I had the V28 line as well and liked its power and runtime but it just didn't seem to hold up like the old 18v stuff. My biggest issue with the V28 was the fact they the absolutly didn't work in the cold. I also had some of the v18 and m18 stuff from Milwaukee and it was all junk IMO. I was very sad the day that I made the switch to Dewalt but not I couldn't be happier. They have great power and runtime and the quality that I need for the way I use my tools.
  15. Way better quality than both the Milwaukee and Bosch IMO. I have had and used all three very hard and the only only that is still running is the Dewalt. The Bosch did out last the Milwaukee by about 6 months. Dewalt has more power, feels better in the hand, and is way better quality. What else do you need!
  16. I am a contractor and use tools pretty hard and I love the Dewalt 12v max line. I had the Milwaukee 12v tools when the came out and they were junk IMO. I broke or burnt up the red stuff in less than a year. I have had the Dewalt 12v since it came out and have used it hard of tons of tasks from setting cabinets to some light framing. They seem to have way more power and are holding up great!
