Is it nothing but a ploy to make you think you can run those reasonably with the batteries that come with it and then force you to buy the larger ones? Seems to be a trend among Ryobi and Rigid kits? Was eyeing a Rigid kit that came with a 6.5 inch circ saw that was going for ~ 200 bucks, but then saw that the batteries were 1.5 ah? I'm right to think that those batteries won't properly run the saw? Thankfully Ryobi latest generation 4 mAh batteries are comparatively cheap. I remember getting mine 2 for $95. DR99
Chen Liu is right Home Depot runs specials on 2 packs of the Ryobi 4ah 2 packs for $99 or less if they get marked down. Some people were getting them for 25/35 2 years ago on after holiday sales.
Tormund
Will this then shift the price of batteries and composition of the combo deals?
Framer joe
I look forward to adding some more Ryobi batteries to my line up...that xmas deal of 2/4.0 for 99$ is great...hopefully the new batteries will be cheap
Jay_OZ
Greetings! Is there any estimated time for the release of these new 3/6/9Ah batteries? (Our local store's Ryobi Rep didn't know of them, and there's no website update in UK/EU, US or Australia) Thanks!
Rammstein2609
ETA is Q3 2017 for EU and ANZ. I haven't heard of these making it into the US yet as they rejected 2.5ah and 5.0ah in 2015.

I can see why they rejected the 2.5 and 5.0 ah batteries since those were barely better than what was already available, but these are a major step up from that. If these don't make it to America in a timely manner, I will not be a happy camper.

eightyseven
It looks like the P194 will be the 9.0 http://manuals.ryobitools.com/system/files/9851/original/P194_003_trilingual_01.pdf P107 & P108 for comparison http://manuals.ryobitools.com/system/files/7355/original/P107_P108_160_trilingual_03.pdf?2017
Jronman
that 9.0 looks big
Rammstein2609
The 9.0ah pack looks big in the image but in reality is only around 17mm thicker at max, weight is obviously more though. I've heard a July 2017 launch for 9.0ah but 3.0 and 6.0 possibly delayed until end of the year. Also, these packs don't use 18650 cells! Watch this space as they have also incorporated some new technology hence the name High Demand! (Sorry can't say anymore than that)

Any word on the price? I really can't wait for it and I hope they make more powerful tools to take advantage of it i.e a full sized sliding compound miter saw or a full sized SDS+ rotary hammer drill. That's the release date for EU and ANZ BUT, I believe Home Depot recently had an expo where Ryobi attended and showed the battery lineup for North America - 1.5ah, 2.0ah & 4.0ah standard pack and 3.0ah, 6.0ah & 9.0ah High Demand packs: Also on the 10" brushless sliding mitre saw side of things... This is a strange one as I don't believe this is the model being released in the EU and ANZ so may be North America specific. This looks like the operating mechanism from the AEG 10" saw and base from the Ridgid 7-1/4" saw.

KnarlyCarl
Just picked up a two pack of the 4.0 batteries for $89 ... Just one if those batteries to buy separately was $99 .. Go figure.. I mean, I'm pretty sure it's the same battery.
KnarlyCarl
Yep, just double checked, plus it looks like the HD I went to has them $10 off. It says $99 for the two pack, but I paid $89,. Sweet!!! ONE+ 18-Volt High Capacity LITHIUM+ Battery (2-Pack) https://thd.co/1JtJzWv Whereas this is $99 ONE+ 18-Volt High Capacity Lithium+ Battery https://thd.co/1MKsrKt

If it is hybrid then shut up and take my money, if it is battery only I would really have to think about it. I am sometimes in places without electricity so it would be nice to have a battery powered miter saw, but I don't know if it is often enough to justify the purchase of a miter saw just for that. If it was hybrid I would be able to replace my corded miter saw with this. I also wonder why they went with 10" rather than 12", that is not a big deal I am jw. DR99
I made a FB comment about what happened to the new batteries. The linked a video eric and dan did on the new vacuum, and I was like what happened to the packs you teased at an event awhile ago. They were like we cant' talk about new products.
