i am in the market for a miter saw. Dewalt has a two cordless option one has a 7 1/4" blade the other one has a 12" blade (the 12" has a port to plug into an outlet , and then there are other brands that are 10" and 12" blade that are cord. why would i need a 10-12" blade vs a 7 1/4 blade and are the cordless options any good

Not sure if the dewalt 12" is available yet... The little dewalt is a proven saw, makita has a nice one too in its 2x18 in a 8 1/2" blade... Ally of options but assess your needs, Milwaukee has a 10" coming out too but the big ones have a big price too

I anxiously await reviews on that new cordless yellow. Red is appealing as well.

The appeal of larger blades is it cuts through larger materials. 10" is likely a fine size for myself but 12" has the appeal of buy once, cry once, and the ability to handle anything I could throw at it.
