Tools & Stuff
My Hitachi DV18DL which has been a faithful friend over many years is no more. Whilst making a Homemade BBQ... she bit the dust.
ChrisK
Great video and a sore loss Poor girl finally gave it her last go. Shows you the quality of the tool though, even at her last moment she wouldn't stop blowing smoke!!!! You going to stick with Hitachi? They have always made great tools.

I will replace it with a Makita. I have finally come to a decision to sell all my old Hitachi 18v stuff (Recip, Jigsaw, Circ, Impact, grinder, vacuum, blower, 3 lights and a buggered drill) and put the money towards a Makita Drill and Jigsaw. It does mean more tools shopping... hopefully I can handle that.

She was a good drill, taken a heap of abuse. I can't count how many times she has fallen off scaffolding or a roof, etc onto concrete and I have cringed as she bounced along, but she always kept going... until now.

I just hate having to decide on whether to get the grunty one, or the really grunty one. Tough times ahead. I haven't even finished putting together my last Makita haul. Oh well...
