My dad use to be a painter so whenever sandpaper went on sale he stocked up (doesnt paint anywhere near as much now), so I am slowly using up his sheets but they are made by 3M and work great. 1 Quote
kruton Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 I always run to the HD to grab my sandpaper mainly because it is super convenient for me.Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Foneguy Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 I use HD as well , in a real pinch HF Quote
Conductor562 Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 I use Diablo almost exclusively, but Wal-Mart sells 3M paper for cheap. 1 Quote
comp56 Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 in Canada we have Canadian Tire stores, they have house brand sand paper and sanding disc's that are often sold at 65% off i'm not sure who makes this stuff as there is no maker's marks on it but the stuff is phenomenal. I buy it in multiple packages when on sale as it were it out lasts Norton 3M Diablo the list goes on and on......most if not all are very dark brown in color regardless of grit. 1 Quote
JMG Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 I haven't purchased sandpaper in a local store for years... I generally make sure that there is enough around for any project that I may have in the works. Lately I have been using 2sand for my source. http://www.2sand.com/ Quote
JimboS1ice Posted December 24, 2016 Report Posted December 24, 2016 I'm actually not a fan of Diablo paper, in my use it wears down quickly and dulls, I find myself constantly changing the paper, my #1 is abranet, followed by festool granet but if I'm in a pinch I like the norton paper at menards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Hugh Jass Posted December 24, 2016 Report Posted December 24, 2016 If it's getting wet it's hard to beat 3M. 1 Quote

JimboS1ice Posted December 26, 2016 Report Posted December 26, 2016 I always have bought it at Sherwin Williams or Autozone. Yea you can get the "homeowner" grade stuff there but their awesome line of professional paper and discs is well beyond the stuff on the shelves if you can get your hands in it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Jronman Posted January 2, 2017 Report Posted January 2, 2017 Im not a big fan of the 3M paper I use at work. its more of a paper joined to a foam like backing. I felt you can't get as much pressure on the paper as you can with paper that isn't back with foam. Quote
WigWagWorkshop Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 I get all my sanding supplies from Vince, http://vinceswoodnwonders.com Excellent customer service, he's like the Sanding Whisperer LOL... 1 Quote
