Extra 12V Max Li-On batteries & Chargers

We use DeWalt DCD710 drill motors at work. We buy the drills, cut the handles off, and use only the motor running off of an external power source. The problem is, it is usually cheaper to buy the kit with two batteries and a charger, than it is to buy the bare tool. We had a couple wear out recently, so I went today and bought two kits at Lowe's for $99. Now I have four batteries and two chargers sitting on my desk. All of the tools at work are 18v and mine at home are 20v. What can I do with these batteries/chargers? It seems such a waste to throw them away.

I know I could sell them, and I might, but I was wondering if I could do anything creative with them. I had thought about rigging up a small light to run off of it, or I don't know. I saw a video of a guy jump starting his car with one, thought that was interesting/slightly unsafe. Haha. I also know DeWalt has made USB chargers that slide on the top of a 20V li-on battery.

TL;DR - I have four 12v Li-on batteries, two chargers, and have no use for them.

I do it all the time with my 20v batteries.... Prolly cus I'm dumb and leave my keys in the ingnition and my lights on all the time.  Works great though.

Hahah. It does sound odd to just chop the handle off a shiny brand new drill doesn't it? It feels weird to do it.

We use them to run an auger bit to pull soil samples. I've heard a lot of trash talked about DeWalt, but those motors are really tough. They get rained on, dirt in them, and they just keep running. Chuck finally went on one of them. The other was an 18V I tried and since we were only running 12V to it, it overheated and quit.

Look at the fine print on the chargers, you may be able to use them with your 20V. They can be used with the USB adapter you mentioned as well as with a small aimable  light that DeWALT makes that is about the same size as the USB adapter.

It looks like I can use the chargers for my 20V batteries! I'm gonna check into the USB adapter. Thanks

Any chance you could post a couple pics?
