Three good guesses and JMG in the right trade at least.... And the 3/4" is the only correct part about it... 4 hours ago, Foneguy said: Banana anti theft device Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4 hours ago, ikepete said: Banana clamp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk U guys are hilarious ?? rrmccabe
It would be much easier if the photo did not have "banana cream" over the name of it ! Those look like blades to me so JMGs guess of something to true up the ends of PEX seems logical.

rrmccabe
If its not for water, I bet its for cutting/prepping CSST which the county I live in is trying to ban !

rrmccabe
When I built my house the inspectors were whining about it. Every new house has CSST and has for several years. Bonding it to ground apparently is very critical. They acted like a lighting strike a mile away could rupture it inside your house. Hope not as my fireplaces, dryer and stove is all that stuff. Sure is easier than running schedule 40 black everywhere.
JMG
I have a manual pipe threader set and have never found black iron to be difficult to work with. Goes back to the right tools for the job, I suppose.

Never have used the material myself. Good work finding that This particular csst is double layer with a metal outer to act as the grounding shield along the whole length. It's the only brand to do so I believe.
