I gave up thinking I could park my truck in the garage a long time ago. Just won't work. So the truck lives outside.

Were in the process of looking for a new house, I don't see a two car garage I see where can I squeeze the wife's car in my new workshop

Gotta go with a 3 car garage slice, It's the only way to go. Well worth any extra money.

I agree but for now that's unrealistic but once we decide to buy our keeper home I want a hunk of land I can build a dedicated shop

Mrs. Conductor came to the realization years ago that parking a car in our garage was a pipe dream. When it's cold, I go start her car for her. It's well worth the sacrifice.

Once in awhile she gets pissy about something totally unrelated and gives me the "(insert random friend) doesn't have half the garage we do and she gets to park in it!" To which I usually make some degrading comment about random friend's husband's questionable manhood due to his lack of excessive amounts of tools and forget about it.

Decided to try and tackle a restore on one of my hand planes. I'm still new to planes and how to use them/set them up properly. I think my sharpening could use a little work. Im pretty sure there is still a slight Burr but I'm not completely sure. Handles still need to be redone though. I chipped off any loose pieces from the front handle and put 1 coat of shellac on for the heck of it. Here are the pics.

Oh...And I got the new miter saw all set up until I figure out a permanent home/station for it. f54b265159def5f9959dc58d9cb63644.jpgf25a6056d98f1dec821679e26622673e.jpg

Size comparison vs the Hitachi. Kinda hard to tell but the Bosch is smaller and doesn't need to be out from the wall as far. 7c1bc886d49c305234f8525af9caa6b2.jpg

The additions continue. My love of old tools is really starting to show. I purchased a late 40's to mid 50' Delta 6" jointer this week. It is all cast iron and solid. I'm not yet sure if it is a slight mutt or not though. I love the art deco style and it will match great with the drill press and somewhat the grinder. At some point I will do a full restore on it but today it got the cutter head cleaned up with a nylon sanding wheel brush. Cuts really nicely for what I did. I'm sure I will get blades at some point but this will buy me some time. I need to find the correct knob for the fence though. The one on it isn't correct. The switch cover is also wrong. I found a reproduction on eBay I'll probably get. Here are the pics. I did find a crack in the back cast piece of the base today which makes me sad. I'll look into what to do with it.

Keeps you at home. I tell the wife it could be worse. I could be out drinking on a bass boat or hanging with trashy women :)

But seriously, I love watching your restorations.

LOL tools are the life and will be the death of me i say

I finally bought a wire wheel and a buffer wheel for the grinder. Not sure what took me so long. Here are a few pics of a part from the jointer. A few minutes of a wire wheel on the drill press vs seconds on the grinder and then lightly polished out. 4b658d750c760b27f669b1d5e27b6596.jpga24af9da6d1860adc3d35808308a916a.jpgc18348225ca02bee684f67feaf35f388.jpg

You are not supposed to wire wheel your gloves.

Skin will grow back.

I laughed, that was too funny  ahhaaha

That sheen tho!! The high speed of the grinder really helps that application, its like using a drill with a sawblade vs an actual circular saw haha

No room for that. Honestly I like the brushed look more so won't be using a buffer all that much. I won't be restoring the jointer right now. Part was easy to get off and just did a few pieces to clean them up.
