rrmccabe
I have been reading about shooting boards for several months. Seemed like a good idea but never took it much further. Lately I am becoming more of a Hybrid Woodworker thanks to Marc Spagnuolo. I bought a new Lie Nielsen #62 low angle jack plane a while back and there was a link for shooting board plans with it. I decided to give it a try so I built a short version to see how it worked. I was amazed and after a little research decided to build another that would fit my personal needs better. Today I tossed together a better one. The man difference besides making it longer was making the fence/stop adjustable so I could move it towards the cut over time. This allows me to plane end grain without any tear-out. Makes me want a regular shooting plane !

rrmccabe
Yea thats a good video. Very basic version but I learned from it. did not want to use mine in a vise like that. I have a cleat on the back that just allows me to drop it on the bench anywhere.
