Ed_Ring
I have a Black&Decker tool with their 20volt lithium battery. Can I use a Black&Decker NiCad 18 volt batter in this tool?
JimboS1ice
No, I doubt itSent from my iPad using Tapatalk
BMack37
Not without modification and it would be a massive waste of time. Lithium is more expensive but it's also a LOT better.
Ed_Ring
I guess my question was not clear. Will the B&D NiCad battery (18V single source) attach to the newer tools that normally use the 20V Lithium B&D batteries? Or are they physically different? Logan
They won't fit unless you modify it to fit
Ed_Ring
Logan: How is it modified? Easy? I see what looks like 'img_5965.jp below your post. Is that something I should see? I'll try to find some Lithium batteries at the store to see if they are similar. Thanks.
Cr8ondt
They physically will not fit, yes it is possible to mod them to work, with enough time and money anything can be done... I'd call this in endeavour of wasting both time and money.
cliu
As far as I know Ryobi is the only brand that allows tools to use ni-cad or Li-Ion batteries.
KnarlyCarl
for some reason i thought Ridgid works with their old batteries or new.
Kato
Ryobi is the only company that that has tools and batteries that work across the entire platform, from old tools and batteries to new...regardless of type, be it Lithium or NiCad.
