wwaayne Posted July 27, 2017 Report Posted July 27, 2017 Anyone heard Dewalt will release new slim body 20V battery? 3Ah 1
Cr8ondt Posted July 27, 2017 Report Posted July 27, 2017 No official word but I'd bet it's in the cards, DeWalt is using 20700 cells in the FV 9/3 and 20v 6ah batteries so it would be quite a simple transition to make slim packs in 3ah. 1

The weight you save might have the same value as 2.0 Ah. I mean, not to me, but to someone... I guess?
Marcv76 Posted July 28, 2017 Report Posted July 28, 2017 The 3ah batteries are the upgraded cells, so they should have superior runtime over the regular 2ah and still be relatively compact.
Framer joe Posted July 28, 2017 Report Posted July 28, 2017 So, if the 3ah, 4ah, 5ah are all the same size in large form...can Dewalt make a 4ah and 5ah the same size as the new dcb230 ..3ah ?
FrosBros82 Posted July 29, 2017 Report Posted July 29, 2017 Hmmm. Yeah, I hear the arguments both ways. I guess I usually like my small batteries on lights, simple impacts, etc. I would be more inclined to buy the bigger batteries at the same price though.
Framer joe Posted July 29, 2017 Report Posted July 29, 2017 I'd buy a bunch of slim 5ah...if they were the same size as the slim 3ah ...that would be perfect for cordless finish guns..drills, compact impact..
Babysaw Posted September 23, 2018 Report Posted September 23, 2018 I picked up four of these from a guy on OfferUp today. They are the real deal. My planer runs at a noticeably higher pitch than either 4.0 or 5.0 batteries make. I expect the 20v mitre will perform similarly. Lower impedance for the win! 2
