No official word but I'd bet it's in the cards, DeWalt is using 20700 cells in the FV 9/3 and 20v 6ah batteries so it would be quite a simple transition to make slim packs in 3ah.

not sure who would pay that much for 3.0ah when you can buy 5.0ah for same price, or way less if you buy on ebay.

The weight you save might have the same value as 2.0 Ah. I mean, not to me, but to someone... I guess?

The 3ah batteries are the upgraded cells, so they should have superior runtime over the regular 2ah and still be relatively compact.

Hmmm. Yeah, I hear the arguments both ways. I guess I usually like my small batteries on lights, simple impacts, etc. I would be more inclined to buy the bigger batteries at the same price though.

I picked up four of these from a guy on OfferUp today. They are the real deal. My planer runs at a noticeably higher pitch than either 4.0 or 5.0 batteries make. I expect the 20v mitre will perform similarly. Lower impedance for the win!
