Coverdale
Hi, as you've probably realised already, I'm technically quite illiterate! I just purchased a Hilti TE 6-A 36V NiCd Cordless Rotary Hammer drill with batteries and charger on Ebay from a store in the US. Can anyone advise me whether I would be able to use the charger in Europe or do I need to modify it ? If I need a new or modified charger would the batteries be ok to use? Sorry for the probably very naive question but this is all Chinese to me Thanks for your help.
Conductor562
You can use a converter on the outlet.
wayneburgess
As Conductor562 has said you can buy a converter that you can plug in to drop the voltage for the battery charger.Just one word of warning about this type of buying though. If you buy a Hilti outside Europe and it is still in warranty, that warranty isn't worth a carrot because Hilti use this as a get out of doing ANY repairs. So just be aware that a service alone on that drill is over £180 U.K and you will be paying full wack if it breaks down. Coverdale
Thanks very much for the advice Conductor562 and Wayne Burgess! The drill is slightly used so I don't think its still under warranty so am taking a bit of a risk. Will see how it goes!
