StrippedScrew
I have a DCD995 that has very little work on it, now there is nothing wrong with the drill its got plenty of power and grunt but I was using a friend's DCD791 today and I really like the weight and performance of it. Other things I like is the 2 speed rather than 3 speed I find getting into speed 2 on the DCD995 fiddly at times. Im actually thinking of jumping onto the DCD791 am I mad? JakeDewalt
Well the 791 isn't a Hammer Drill so I would stick with what you got.
StrippedScrew
Just now, JakeDewalt said: Well the 791 isn't a Hammer Drill so I would stick with what you got. I never use the hammer drill function much prefer to use a rotary hammer.
JakeDewalt
Do you use your Impact to drive fastners and screws?

I figure it saves the arm, trying to fit the big one into tight places, and prolong the life of each tool. Not mad at all.
AnonymousJoe
I agree I’ve been thinking about doing the same, either picking up a 796 or the m12 drill just cuz they are smaller/lighter and easier to carry on my belt for 90% of what I do as well
Big Adam
Boys own one drill. Men own several.
Framer joe
Can’t go wrong with the 791; I have a few and love them. I personally think it’s the best drill out there. Got the 996 for big stuff...I’ll never use the hammer function again once I learned about sds drills...the Dewalt sds plus is a beast and the m12 fuel sds does the small stuff.......i was insane using a hammer drill for drilling concrete, no comparison........I have a large m12 collection now but the 791 is my favorite

dwain
791 is the bets compact drill around. if you don't use the power of the 995 often, and have an SDS anyway, the swap is worth it. I'd have both personally
