Well this helps me substantially.

Moonwink
Home Depot is showing the price 3 cents under $80. The $60 price sounds a lot better. Who's selling them for that price?
JeffWiley
Hi...to me, a cordless soldering iron should be self-contained. That would limit its features, versatility, and compactness a little. But then again, my impression of what is proper comes from the fact that there hasn’t been cordless soldering stations like this before. A cordless cord-attached soldering iron will be more slender than an all-in-one, which could result in a more comfortable or controllable user experience. turnkey pcb assembly
Timav
For me, I chose butane soldering iron. I use it outdoors, without electricity. I picked up a Weller for myself.

Cordless soldering is particularly wonderful being a guy that does car audio, because who wants to have extension cords that you fuss with getting around to every corner of a car anyway? I’m never using a corded soldering iron again.
