firefighter4187
Anyone notice DeWalt's new line of sockets?
Conductor562
Yea, they have a line of mechanic tool sets coming out soon if they aren't already out. I believe they will only be available at Sears for awhile.
firefighter4187
I wonder how the quality of them are.
Conductor562
I wonder how the quality of them are.I expect them to be pretty good quality. Dewalt is owned by Stanley/B&D who has lots of hand tool know how through the Proto, Blackhawk, Facom and Stanley lines, not to mention the numerous other brands they've owned over the years. I'm anxious to give them a shot though.

Conductor562
The ratchets are pretty unique. I expect Blackhawk level quality. Probably the same ratcheting mechanisms.
crazyandy
I am pretty curious to see how they are
firefighter4187
So am i ! The price is a little high from what i saw on sears
Joe M
If they are gonna be available only at Sears then naturally they will be priced higher than Craftsman because they will be the premium in comparison.
firefighter4187
Yeah for a 240 peice set it is $
Conductor562
Yeah for a 240 peice set it is $239That's not too bad. If they are indeed Blackhawk level quality that's really not bad.
DR99
Well from what I have read they are not made in America so I doubt they will have the same quality as the other higher end Stanley brands. Plus being only sold at sears is really wierd I still don't get that how many people still shop at sears at this point?
firefighter4187
I dont haha
Conductor562
I haven't seen any COO info yet. With Blackhawk the sockets, wrenches, etc. are USA made while anything with a ratcheting mechanism is typically Taiwan. Don't get me wrong, I buy USA made tools 99% of the time, but the Taiwan Blackhawk stuff is still excellent quality. Could Dewalt be a mix of COO possibly? Could Dewalt be a mix of COO possibly?I was just thinking about how it was going to work against made in the usa craftsmen tools compared to the mixed coo of Dewalts.People tend to buy made in the usa when the price is close or cheaper. http://www.coptool.com/dewalt-mechanic-hand-tools-complete-sets/#more-2047 This is where I got my info about these sockets. Bear in mind Coptool does sell tools so they are not an impartial entity regarding this.
firefighter4187
Does Milwaukee have a line of sockets?
DR99
Not any hand tool socket sets yet they do have case hardened sockets for impact drivers and impact wrenches though

Wrenches, ratchets, sockets, etc. are all China now. The Western Forge stuff )Screwdrivers, pliers, etc.) is still USA, but that's about it. They announced the closing of the North Carolina Apex plant where most of it was made back in October or November.

Conductor562
The jaw and balancer pullers are still USA (Western Forge). Steering wheel pullers are Taiwan.
