SparkDr
I picked up the Milwaukee string trimmer / pruning saw combo for use at my camp before the summer and have to believe that I am about due for a string reload. I haven’t had any problems with the factory trimmer head but really like the Echo rapid loader system shown below that I’ve used at home on my gas trimmer for years. Anyone had any luck or experience swapping out the OEM head to something like this? It’s a 2+ hour ride one-way to camp and the trimmer stays there so I don’t have the luxury of a “hands on” investigation at the moment. Thus far, Milwaukee has been unresponsive to my request for a shaft or arbor dimension / thread size. Any help would be appreciated.
paulengr
Do you have any tips for this? I lined up the arrows, fed the string in without problems...but when I bump down, no line comes out. I have to take the edger, press down with my hand, and pull with the other hand, then something will come out.On the EGO they are particular about the line size and to some degree shape. If you don’t use the one they specify it doesn’t work and it eats line like crazy. Don’t have to buy their brand, just get line that is very similar. Ballistic double twist 0.085” or something like that. I don’t have the Milwaukee but based on the description sounds the same.
