mikep Posted November 4, 2020 Report Share Posted November 4, 2020 Ive done some research and cant figure out if there is any mechanical difference between the XDT16 and the TD171. I saw some comments about the bit depth being different on the 171 but I a m not sure if thats accurate. I would rather have the made in Japan 171 but not if there are differences such as being not as adaptable to bits etc. for someone living in the states. thanks for any help! aessu Posted November 6, 2020 Report Share Posted November 6, 2020 Not all of them are made in Japan. TD171D is the japanese model, and the early ones were made in Japan. I have a DTD171, wich is the same thing here in Europe and in Canada, and its made in China.
